Hess Station Near Epcot Area Resorts

Wow that is too weird! I wonder how that works. Does Coke and or Disney pay them to not sell Pepsi products? Heaven forbid someone was walking around the parks with an Aquafina bottle in their hands. Or, do you think it's out of respect towards Disney? My guess is somebody payed someone.

I'm guessing it's just in the contract for those particular stations, if Hess wants to be there, they have to abide by the contract...which is worth it to Hess since they probably make a BUNDLE at them with all the tourists.

I didn't notice, but I can take an educated guess that these Hess stations also don't sell gum, since that too is not sold anywhere on Disney property.

At least they didn't just have Nescafe!

A couple other comments...
And yes, I used a rolling suitcase to carry my things back. Worked great. :thumbsup2

As for how to get to Hess, the best way is to walk from the Boardwalk Resort. Go out their main doors and through the parking lot, across the sorta-busy street and Hess is right there, can't miss it! I believe the Hess at DTD is very similar to this one, but I cannot say from personal experience.

That's standard procedure if you have a contract with a certain vendor. KFC & Pizza Hut sell only Pepsi products as does Golden Corral. If you lease a vending machine from Coca Cola or Pepsi you cannot have a mix of their products. Only if you own the machine.

i learned the same thing about dr. pepper too, went to the hess by downtown disney hoping to pick up a case of my beloved dr. pepper and there was none, the cashier said it's in the contract since they are on disney property they can only carry coke products, no gum or lottery there either!

I get the KFC, Taco Bell and vending machine contracts but Hess Mart sells Pepsi products, gum and lotto tickets in all of their other stations in the country as best as I can tell.

Unless, Disney actually owns the property and Hess rents from them and part of the rental agreement is no gum, lotto tickets or Pepsi products are to be sold.

We stumbled on this Hess last year. We were staying at POP and passed it one day when we made a wrong turn. When my husband discovered that they had beer at a somewhat normal price (you know, not $5 a bottle!) he was hooked. Almost every evening he made a Hess run and came back with snacks, beer, and whatever else piqued his interest that day.

Just found your post....Thank You very much for taking the time to take all those pictures!

If you don't want to rent a car, all you have to do is literally walk through the lobby of the Boardwalk and follow the pathway through the parking lot and you will see the HESS station across the street. My mom and I are boycotting that HESS though! All she wanted 2 weeks before my 21st bday was a bottle of wine (for herself :thumbsup2 )... While we were there and at the counter getting ready to pay, she handed me the bottle TO HOLD while she was getting her money out. THEY WOULD NOT LET HER BUY IT BC I WAS A MINOR HOLDING IT. How ridiculous! But yeah, it's convenient if you don't wanna rent a car and go to Publix haha

I just looked but I couldn't see any sidewalks from the satelite image. I'm thinking it isn't as easy as it seems to walk from Boardwalk.

I just looked at the PI Hess station and there are sidewalks there. It looks to be a shorter walk too, from the busses

Just got back from the Boardwalk Villas. We walked over to the Hess for beer and water. It was a quick walk and there is a sidewalk all the way to the road at the Hess station. When you cross the street, you have to walk up the Hess Station driveway.

For the price we paid for 2 cases of beer and a case of water, it was well worth the 5 minute walk over.

I'm planning on staying at POP. No personal transportation. How would I get to Hess for sodas?

By taxi??? The closest Hess to POP is too far to walk. You could ride the bus to DTD, cross the busy highway & go to the Hess there, then take the bus back to the resort. Too much trouble IMO, lol. Love the Hess stations tho. They have great jalepeno poppers......we always have a car tho.

Well it is definately too far to walk. You could take a bus from a park to the Boardwalk and then walk over to the Hess. Then take the bus from Boardwalk to DTD and back to your resort. that might be the best way.

There are crosswalks to cross from DTD to the Hess station. Lots of CM's and other DTD employees park behind the Hess station and cross the street. It is also a little closer to the Hess station if you get on and off at the Pleasure Island bus stop.

This is what we do too. We take the DTD bus to Pleasure Island and walk across the street. We will be doing it in a few weeks on our next trip. Water is so much cheaper there!

A little off-topic, but I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else:

The Villas have 8-12 cup coffee pots, the regular rooms have 4 cuppers. What do the DVC Studios have? They're kind of in-betweeners. Any help you can offer would be great!

THANK YOU -- I love that people do this stuff to help out others! I would forget to think of it, because I forget a lot of things. :headache:

Just got back from 10 days in a studio at BCV. The coffee pot was a 4 cupper. I always remember them having the 10-12 cup one but the coffee packets they leave are for 4 cups also so I guess it is a cost effective change.

I dont drink coffee, dh does - we stayed at BWV in a studio - the coffee filters he used were the ones in the first post here - the 8-12 cup basket filters

the other tip - is we use wegoshop.com - and I use the publix weekly ad and order my groceries, for me its well worth the delivery price to get Sam Adam's beer at $12 for 12, the Rosa Regal champagne for $19 (it was on sale last week for $16) and the water was $3.99! I also got frozen Jimmy Dean breakfast sausage sandwiches, and my personal fav - DR PEPPER!!
