I really can't understand this thread.

You wrote that your mother "loves" those cats to death, and is "obsessed" with them, and yet she leaves them with her brother who is a drug addict with no money and is not supposed to have pets in his apartment, who is not a cat person, and who admits to torturing them?


Sorry, I don't buy it.

If your mother really loves those cats that much, she would have done what is best for them, even if it means taking them to a shelter.

OP - suck it up, and take them in until your mom has her apartment.

I'm REALLY allergic to cats. Not just runny nose - but full blown asthma attacks - and *I* would take in the cats - and stuff them in my extra bedroom until my mom could take them back.

This post has me so disturbed, I can't even think straight. So flipping sick!!!

Perhaps entrusting the life of any living thing to a bipolar, schizophrenic drug addict was a lapse in judgment.

I have a friend from my college days who has both schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Not only did he graduate from college with honors, he is a very good, loving, productive member of our community. I would absolutely entrust him with any living creature. But then his illnesses are very well controlled with medication. You wouldn't know he is sick at all. He is very responsible and takes his meds regularly. His insurance once lapsed and he didn't have his drugs for a few weeks and OMG what a difference. It was shocking to say the least. But a schizophrenic/bipolar who is well controlled with medication is very trustworthy. In fact, most people probably know lots of people with these illnesses and have no idea of it.

The issue with the OP's uncle is that he has these mental illnesses and opts use illegal drugs which makes his condition worse. I'd also guess he chooses not to take the medications that would control his illness.

I think the mother was out of her mind to give the uncle these cats. BUT, that is not the fault of the OP. She seems to be doing everything she can to help these poor animals.

I'm actually afraid of what the outcome for those poor cats is/was!

If they are retrieved, I'm sure they have been permanently damaged psychologically.

I'd never trust anyone again if I were treated so horrendously!

One day I recived a email will Photos of a guy torturing like 10 cats. What I did, was, I send the photos to the FBI, CIA and the police. This guys with time, are big offenders and can kill somebody, so I send them also to his police ( a belive was Spain) and all the countries he probably visit. So the police will figure it out what to do.
Of course I e mail it to everybody in case somebody spot him.

Pd.-I couldn´t read all the thread, because this is a very serius thing for me, I love animals.

Either way, I can't understand why anyone would want to torture cats. And I can't understand why anyone would make this up.

The OP has a new thread on theme parks about grandma telling her to drug the kids for their flight to Disney. Says they leave tomorrow. If her mom hasn't done something about the cats yet it probably won't happen.

Her post got me so upset that I went around and hug all 3 of our cats!!!

They just looked at me like was what was that all about--let me sleep!!!!

I really hope now after reading how shes going to WDW with her mom that

her story about her moms cats is just a pathic cry for attention!!!!

I saw that new thread too. She has a couple of other threads out there talking about her trip. Funny how her mom has money to take the trip to WDW but doesn't have money to board her cats.
