We're doing the happy dance in our house today. Called my sister last night (she lives in Oklahoma and I'm in Michigan so our overlapping time to talk windows are limited
) and discovered that BIL is home!About 4 weeks ago we had a very short email not to send any more packages but hadn't heard anything since. I was starting to worry. Especially since I couldn't reach anyone last week - and then found out about all the bad weather. Needess to say I've been thinking about them a LOT this week and tried calling several times but never made contact until last night.
When he answered the phone I thought I was going to drive off the road (no long distance charges with my cell - no lectures please)! Anyway found out he has been home a couple of weeks but was being "lazy" about letting people know - he was simply enjoying being home.
His unit had a meeting at the base yesterday as well and they are being deactivated. They have been on active duty status as a unit since a couple days after 9/11 and rotating in and out of the middle east. Many of the guys will leave active status as soon as the unit officially deactivates on Monday. Mike, however, as he says has never had a "real" (translation - civilian) job so he plans to stay around on active status until they throw him off the base. But unless some other major event erupts and they assign him to a different unit he will stay stateside!
Had to share - still dancing here!
Deb

but am thrilled for all of you that he is.
He's forgiven!
