he's getting out of jail

I am a firm believer in "what goes around, comes around." If he didn't get "his" in prison ( I thought that prisoners hated child molesters?), he will probably "get it" from someone on the outside.

I just don't understand how people can be so cruel...:sad2:

I read it in the newspaper yesterday and absolutely could not believe it. The article said he had done his time, but actually he's only done 2/3 of his time. It also said that he has never admitted guilt that he beat the little girl to death, or that he ever beat his wife and son. How in the world can they let this unremorseful person back on the streets? I just don't understand.

I hope their laws were changed afterwards...no way should that have been manslaughter....it was murder.

I never understood the verdict either.

I suppose the jury felt that punching her and leaving her to die was not the legal equivalent of actually killing her outright. It certainly was the moral equivalent.

I suppose he was left along in jail because he didn't sexually abuse her -- he "only" hit and beat her.

the case did bring about a lot of changes in NY law regarding abuse. too bad such a sad and lonely girl had to die for that to happen.

I really don't want this man back out on the streets!

I saw an article about him a couple of days ago in our local paper. I live pretty close to the correctional facility he's in.

What a sad, horrible story. I was worried he might stay around here until I noticed that article said he would presumably be going back to the city. Personally, I don't think they should have let him out. I really can't believe that he would benefit society at all by being let out.

I read that Hedda was working with battered women, and that she plans to leave NY now that Joel isabout to be released so that she doens't accidnetally encounter him.

who ever decided that guy is alright to live in the world with us, should first let him live in there home

He will be out of prison by 9:30 a.m. tomorrow. Hedda Nussbaum has left her job and left NY. He still has to attend "anger management" classes and has curfew restrictions, etc. Since it was her testimony that put him away, she is getting as far away as possible.

It's unimaginable that he will be out in the general population.
