My stalker mouse that is. I thought he had moved on, no sight of him all week. Not even any mouse droppings. But, last night I was sitting on my couch with some friends following a bible study with the Epic band members, when I see a black streak go from my fireplace, around the corner and behind my entertainment center. I was on the coffee table before I could even scream. My friends (all guys) get down on the floor, thinking they could catch him. Um, no, he's very fast. He ran under the laundry room door. I retreaved a mouse trap from my bedroom (where he was first seen by me) and we reapplied the p-butter (it was eaten clean) and put it in the laundry room. An hour later, he made a reverse route and went into my fireplace. The fireplace is gas with a glass front. He went in the little vents at the bottom. I got the other trap from the pantry (again, licked clean, the little glutton) and put it in front of the fireplace. The daring little rodent came out one more time, ran right over the top of that trap, and re-enterd my fireplace. I was totally freaked out by the time I went to bed. I am sure he's packing an oozie and has x-ray vision, but none of my friends would confirm that. I did feel a little vindicated though, because, up until now, I was the only one who has seen him. Dh was beginning to think it was all in my imagination. He said he'd investigate and see if he was entering the fireplace from the outside. I feel creepy just thinking about him.

Should we send Simba over?

Get one of those sticky traps. Works better than those spring traps.

Um, do you think your stalker has friends/relatives?

Yes, Shep, I could use Simba. However DH may do him harm, so he'd probably better stay with Catsrule.

Browneyes: I am going to get the sticky trap on my way home today. DH initially thought they weren't very humane because it wasn't instant death, but I don't care anymore.

newmousecateer: I thought about turning it on, but Dh and the other guys said he's under the fireplace not in where the fire it. But, I just may have to turn it on for a while.

Does roasted mouse smell bad?

I would think so.

Inhumane or not, I prefer the sticky traps-they're more reliable. Good luck catchin' your unwanted house guest.:)

I like chicken.

Shannon, I am worried he has relatives, but I haven't seen any others. He's a black mouse and very easy to spot. Stephen keeps teasine me that it's Mickey, getting me ready for my trip. But I think not, no red shorts, just x-ray vision and an oozie. Mickey would never carry an oozie.
