Primarily rent thru Avis or hertz (gold) at MCO

Upcoming rental starting 11/25 for two weeks has been problematic as to rates

Had lowest rate via car rental savers for a midsize. I modified it today to A small suv just shy of $600

Noticed they had a suppliers choice rate for $200 less. Couldn’t resist. Booked a 2nd reservation with them

Moral judgment aside for holding two (let alone with same company), would think they’d email me if they have an issue with a dupe. Or not? Would hate to think they’d cancel one arbitrarily

Additionally, suppliers choice does indicate possibility of electric vehicle. I would decline as parking vehicle while cruising for four days & unsure of chargers in the garage

Qs For those who have recently booked supplier choice thru hertz:

Should I assume this category doesn’t qualify to pick a vehicle off the aisle?

If assigned a specific vehicle, was it electric?

You cannot choose the vehicle, they will tell you what you will be driving. I’ve heard of people getting pick up trucks, it’s usually the less desirable vehicles. It can definitely be a chance you’re taking. EV’s have been hard to rent out, friends got taken in by a really low rate for one. They found out why (did not end well). I’d be prepared for something you may not want to drive. But then again, you could get lucky.

If you care at all about what you get, don't do the supplier's choice. Odds are very high you'll get a compact, 12 passenger van, pick up truck or electric.
While Hertz doesn't make it a habit to proactively delete duplicate reservations, they do have that right under the agreement you made with them. If you go to pick up the supplier's choice and don't like the vehicle given, they could cancel both reservations at that time too, or reprice it to whatever the walk up rate is.

In my experience, you will get an electric. They seem to have a lot of Polestars. When I booked through car rental savers in September, there was an option for suppliers choice and suppliers choice electric at Hertz. I chose suppliers choice that was a bit more expensive than suppliers choice electric because I did not want an EV. Hertz still tried to give me an electric and would not budge. Fortunately, it was at a fairly low-demand time, so I just rebooked at Sixt for less than the 'upgrade' to a non-electric at Hertz would cost.

An electric isn't terrible, but it's really, really hard to return it in a way that does not incur the $35 recharge fee. Basically, Hertz's cars are set so you can't charge past 90%. You get the car at 80%. If you return it any lower than 80%, they charge you. There is not enough infrastructure for rapid charging in Orlando. So if you're planning to drive on your return day, you will probably dip below 80%. I did a one-day electric rental in July, and it was NOT worth the hassle of trying to charge it. Disney has some charging stations, and I was able to charge at the top of a parking garage in Disney Springs. Universal's only electric charging is in Valet parking, which is hella expensive.
