Hertz on line check in?

Just printing off my Hertz voucher for next month, booked directly with them and it mentions online check in. Has anyone done this before. When do you do this, day before or anytime. Then what happens at the airport.
First time in ages we haven't booked through usrenatcar so want to make sure I know what I am doing.

Online check-in is a time-saver with Hertz, nothing more but always welcome after a long flight!!!

You fill in all your details in advance like Credit card, drivers licence etc, so when you get to the desk all you need to do is show your check in confirmation and licence and they give you the keys!
