hertz hire car and parking at hrh??

Hi, we are planning to hire a hertz car from Port canaveral after our cruise, to drive us to Universal and also to visit our relatives the following day. We then plan to turn in the rental car at the onsite Hertz desk at the HRH, as we will spend the remaining 5 days/nights of our trip onsite and will get a taxi back to the airport.

How does the charging for car parking work?? I don't want them charging parking for our whole stay when we won't be keeping the car. (I love the HRH but have a real problem with paying for parking!!)

I am even wondering whether it would be more beneficial for us to turn in the hire car as soon as we arrive at the hotel and then booking another days car hire for the next day - would that work out the same price, but without me needing to pay parking - or is a 2 day car hire cheaper than 2 x 1 day hiring??


Also, what time is the Hertz desk open until for drop offs?? (we will be visiting relatives on New Years eve which could be a late night!!)

Finally, do you pay parking as soon as you arrive?? (I was thinking of driving from the port and checking in (dropping luggage and popping over to Guest Services to collect our park passes) and then going out in the car for the day) Is there a short term parking for say an hour at Hard Rock??
