Has anyone heard of the Hertz Family Pack Special? It started today and is good thru October 31, 2007.

It offers:

The first tank of gas is free.

Full-size four door, premium, luxury, midsize and full-size SUV's and Minivans

Add an additional driver at no extra charge.

Minimum five day rental.

Mention rate code FAMILY when making your reservation

I haven't heard anything about this, but I don't understand what "the first tank of gas is free" means. Don't they always start you out with a full tank? Do they mean that the "last" tank of gas is free -- as in, you don't have to return it with a full tank? Or am I missing something?

It means that you can return it with any level of fuel and you will not get charged for the gas you used.
