Hertz - Car Seat

Has anyone used a car seat from Hertz?? Friends of mine will be traveling in Hawaii for a month, and she is concerned about the quaility. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with getting one in Orlando. Thanks for your help.

If the child needs a car seat on the ground, the child should have one on the plane. Tell your friends to take their own with them, buy a seat for the child and use the car seat.

I am LOL. Because I think that would be a bad idea to tell them they should get there baby a seat on the plane. . In all reality I was laughing because instead of buying their baby a seat they are bringing me on the trip. They had booked the baby a seat and instead decided to invite me. Oh well.

How old is the baby? I think it is wonderful that they are taking you, but, in reality, the baby/child is safer in it's own seat. Turbulance can cause babies/children to become projectiles and the end result is not pretty.

I agree about using a carseat on an airplane. Even when my kids were under 2yo I still bought them their own seat. Some airlines have a cheaper rate for a baby under 2.

You know what disturbs me, is people don't care about that. Cheapeast way from point a to b without care to the child or the other pax.

I know that I could never forgive myself if I didn't buckle my child up and they were hurt or killed. Sure, it's tempting to not get the seat when they are still free, but if someone is going to WDW it's not going to matter that much financially in the whole scheme of things. I would much rather eat breakfast in the room and save all that money and spend it on the airplane seat for my baby. Or have sandwich fixings in the room for a quick, cheap meal. IE, there are all kinds of ways to save money, but I personally wouldn't sacrifice the safety of my baby.

My 4yo is in a booster and can't use that on an airplane so I need to either bring or rent one if I rent a car. I can't believe how much the rental companies charge to rent a booster ($7/day at Budget), but that also beats my son through a windshield...

You mean that they had already booked the seat for the child, and then paid a hefty change fee to give the seat to you instead?
How extraordinary. On a flight that long, they make come to heartily regret that generous impulse.

I suggest that they check their own seat anyway. Rental company seats are often in poor condition, and are ridiculously expensive. Also, what they don't tell you is that there is no guarantee that an appropriate seat will be available when you arrive, even if you have reserved one.
