Three of my girlfriends and myself are considering taking a vacation to Hershey Park with our dd's, ages 4 & 5, and are trying to find any info we can. For instance, a good, safe, yet relatively inexpensive place to stay. Is this even a good idea for children of this age, etc. Any and all help would be terrific!! Thank you!!

Yes, I would go. Hershey has a kids area (I'm pretty sure!) and there's lots of smaller carnival-type rides if the kids are too small for the roller coasters. There's a cool night show in the vein of Illuminations, too! (Not te countries... The lasers...) It's BIG, though -- I'm 23 and I get tired walking around there! And it's not too easy to go back to the hotel for a nap.

And for hotels, my parents have stayed at the Sleep Inn off I81, about five minutes from the park. It's nice, decent price. Don't have any other hotel experiences, though -- my ILs live about 20 minutes away, so we stay with them.

There are so many rides for kids their ages. I've stayed at a Hampton Inn on Union Deposit Road. It's about 8 miles from the park but there is alot of places to eat around it. The Hampton Inn also has a complimentary breakfast, cereal, waffles, bagels, etc. :)

FYI - I just heard last night that the 25th annual Creation Festival has been moved to Hersheypark due to flooding at the usual venue. They expect 100,00 people to attend the event. It runs 6/25 through 6/28. We were planning to go sometime that week. Looks like it will be Monday or Tuesday to avoid the crowd.
