We are travelling to Wash DC in the fall. We have decided to take a day trip to Hershey for chocolate :p and fun. We have gone to Hershey before (last year) and unfortunately so did 1,000's of Creation Festival attendees which made our day at the park miserable (the heat had something to do with that as well). We'll be going to Hershey Park's Halloween thing. I see park admission is free with pay as you go rides. Has anyone else been to this? Am I looking at Creation Festival crowds all over again? How much do you have to pay for the rides? Is it ticket based?

I'm just looking for information and any help would be a benefit. Hershey's website doesn't offer up much info besides free entry, pay rides and trick or treating for the kids.

Thanks.

Creation is a Christian Music Festival that was moved to Hershey last year due to all the rain at the Agape Farm where it is usually held.
Creation was held June 24 - 27 (I think those were the dates) this year in it's normal place.
I am not sure why Creation goer's made your time at the park miserable, but from what I heard, they had a great time.

I haven't been to Hershey's Halloween in awhile, but if I remember correctly you pay so much for so many tickets or you can pay for a wristband. Some of the rides take quite a few tickets. I think DH & I got wristbands for the kids and we didn't ride anything. Someone please correct me if I am wrong. Be prepared to pay $7 for parking. We found out that "free" doesn't go too far at Hershey.

I'm sure they did have a great time and it was nothing against them. As you originally stated, they weren't supposed to be there but because of the rain they moved their tent city to Hershey. When you add a few to several thousand people to any amusement park....crowd conditions can get pretty bad. Plus, the rains had given way to heat and humidity....something we out west aren't used too....we like our "dry" heat :teeth: .....all that combined made for a very long day. I loved the park, but we didn't get to do nearly everything we had planned because of the unexpected crowds.

For anyone that had ever seen the Greatful Dead roadshow....people camping out anywhere and everywhere...that's what the Creation Festival reminded me of. Minus all the stuff that made the Dead concerts famous.
