I love AllEars.net's page for "At Large" folks. I've even contributed an entry or two. Does anyone know if Hershey Park has a similar online page helpful to those of us that are big/tall?

Would anyone be willing to share their experiences with me?

Thank you :)

I have a Hershey Park info site. On it there are pictures of the rides that could help with planning. But, you gave me a great idea to include info for those who are big/tall. Thank you! If you would like to check out the site here is a link www.hersheyinfo.com

I went to Hershey's 2yrs ago and it was definitely not pooh-sized friendly. I ended up having to walk around while my grandsons rode all the rides. Very boring day.

I appreciate all of the replies and PMs!

In case anyone refers to this thread in the future, my experience made me that much more grateful to be able to access the Disney parks on a regular basis.

Thanks again!

OK, we are thinking of going to Hershey next summer sometimes (2011). My DH is 6'5" and about 275, just a big, broad guy. Is this going to be a wasted trip?

I think if you go in knowing it's possible he may not be able to ride some of the rides, but that there is still plenty he can, and plenty of other things to see and do then you should have a great time. I didn't see the test cars that a previous poster mentioned, but my husband did. Here are my husband's thoughts for you:

Hmm, I think all of the big coasters will be either out of the question or borderline at best. He may fit in the one I did with R [it was a newer, straight up a hill coaster] but it was painful for me. I don't think he would fit in the looper, the great bear or the other vertical coaster that R and I didn't do (I couldn't even get half in the test car for that one).

275 is lighter than me and he's taller so I don't know, he may have better luck
if he's not claustophobic ;-) [because he felt squished]

I couldn't take anything but very shallow breaths on that one coaster because the bar was compressing my chest [the very fast up the hill one]

If they have kids, it would definitely be worth the trip. Just not if they're going specifically to ride the biggest, scariest coasters.

I am shorter than your husband, but heavier. My husband and I both could not fit into the Comet. We tried. I couldn't even get in the seat. He could not pull the bar down. I didn't try the Looper. I DID try and loved the Sidewinder. Loved it! Fit great, no problems at all. I did try the dueling coaster, and I would not do it again at this weight. Your husband might be fine since he's lighter. They pushed on the bar to get it down. I should have gotten up and not ridden. Ouch. Pain. I did ride the Trailblazer several times. My thighs were bruised from the bars. I rode the Falcon with my daughter and loved it. No problems. That's not a coaster, though. We were there for two evenings and while I was sad that I couldn't ride with my daughter on the coasters, I was happy with the trip and happy to spend time with my family.
