we are driving down to MD/VA and are thinking about stopping at either Hershey or the Crayola Factory on the way down. We have 3 young children (ages 4 and 2) and not sure which they would like more. we've never been to either.

Hershey Park is not open when we are going, but I think the museum and whatever else there is to do there is.

So what to do? We would only have an afternoon or so to spend there.

As much as I love chocolate I suggest the Crayola Factory. When my sister was probably around 7 or so, my mother took her and she LOVED it!

If the park at Hershey isn't going to be open when you're there, I'd go to the Crayola Factory. Otherwise, all there is to do is a 5 minute tour of the chocolate factory and some VERY expensive other activities that your young children would probably get bored of anyways.

I am chaperoning my daughter's field trip to the Crayola Factory this week. I'll let you know what I think after the trip! I love Hershey. It's a bummer that it will be closed when you pass through. It's a great place!

I was going to say Hershey w/out a doubt until I read it was closed. The Crayola factory is OK. Your kids are a little young for it. There will be some things to do but I thijk it's geared more for 5 and up. An afternoon is perfect would not take you all day. I'm sure they will enjoy the stop.

Just to say that my DD loved Crayola at 3 & 4 and now that she's 7 is totally bored by it. the crafts are too simplistic for her now. My DS 4 and 2 still enjoy it though but DD made me promise after our last visit in the summer (she was 6) not too bring her back. :confused3

For you're 2, I'd say they're the perfect age. Have fun, :goodvibes

We (usually) have season passes for Hershey but I would say go to Crayola factory. I never was at the Crayloa Factory but the Hershey muesum is not worth it at all. The kids do like the Hershey gardens though, the butterfly house in the children's garden is nice.

well, we ended up saving both of those for a different trip, and ended up heading into philly instead. we went to the "please touch" museum (aka the children's museum). the kids had a blast...it was a really cute place and they loved it. would definitely go back. :)
