Heroes officially cancelled

Zachary Quinto must have seen it coming for a couple of weeks he might have I love Sylar in A Brave New World yeah it's a brave new world brilliant anyway I hope they leave the door open for a special or tv movie.

Season 1 was awesome... season 2 started to get odd but I stuck with it... season 3 stunk.

I am not surprises. Many people I know stopped watching after season 2, including myself. I know their rating pretty much sank overall as well.

That was me. It started getting stupid when they were going to the future or past in every episode. Plus it was confusing.

You know I loved it when it started and then they killed off the mom (split personality) of the boy (electronics/machine kid), and then they brought her back next season. Hello....I couldn't watch it after that. That jumped the shark for me that day. It really ticked me off.:headache:

Well, they at least need to let us know if HRG is a good guy or a bad guy, because for the life of me I can't figure him out. I was also sad not to see Micah last season, but I agree, the show really veered into the "too much" category. For me, it was when Nathan died and was put into Sylar's body and how Micah's mom is now a totally different Tracy. I mean, really.

Heroes worst episodes were still better than just about anything else on TV. I never thought it got stupid. I loved every minute of it and I am ridiculously bummed out.

The show got ridicules...

::yes:: I absolutely loved Season 1. I tried to watch season 2, but never cared enough to get around to watching the last few episodes and finally deleted them from the DVR a couple of months later. I tried to get back into it during season 3, but only watch 2 or 3 episodes. That tattoo "power" was just so ridiculously stupid and the whole thing just got so bad, I never watched it again.

It's like a cult hit has died and will never come back I hope they will air it over in the Uk on BBC 3 a special or movie to wrap it up properly I'm upset that this is it.

DH isn't surprised (and I just told him). He thinks it may have to do with the amount of breaks in between (among other things). People lose interest in a show if you have too many breaks, especially loooong breaks.

but why did Heroes steadily decline

They started to lose me after the writers' strike, and then the mid-season breaks, and season breaks just took too long. And then there was all the convoluted, change the plot/alternative universe/what the heck are we doing? situations.

Season 1 was good though.

Extremely confusing. I had issues keeping things straight and I was watching every episode. If you missed an episode, forget about it. Just stop watching the season because you will NEVER catch up again.

I'm just glad that Syfy picked up Eureka for a 4th season!

This is what happened to me. I missed one episode and was lost and my DH would try to explain but then he would end up saying "you had to see it."
we love Eureka too. quirky show!:happytv:

Eureka, often films here in Downtown Chilliwack.

I like going down and watching what they are filming. It use to only be on the Space channel which I don't get. I did see that it was on recently-I should have jotted down the channel, date and time so I could start watching it.

Zachary Quinto has reached out to fans following the cancellation of hit Heroes and says the decision still seems surreal to him aww see it hits people really hard.

The problem with shows is that the suits begin to make decisions based on $ and contacts instead of talent. You can tell when the good writers leave, or the suits disturb the writers and mess with the flow of the show. Worse yet is when the actor's get into the act and try to be 'creative' by getting episodes that revolve around their characters

heroes started to go down hill when they started to expand out of the clear cut good & evil situation. I LOVED it was sort of pre-Xmen but then they went all over the place and it got hard to tell the main characters from the side ones. It all got diluted because each main character HAD to get their own story line. 24 did this when they started trying to 'get away' from the ideas that sparked an interest with their core fans. Uggh, it became so loaded with messages it turned my stomach to watch it never mind the hard to count sub stories... too much. Smallville did it when they dumped Lex's character in favor of much less interesting characters... ummm Chole' IS NOT lead character material, what were they thinking? LOST did it when they started to revolve around John Locke's character... groan :headache: because I can't stand his character.

It's too bad that Hollywood refuses to give us what we actually want, it's such foolishness. Here is an idea: Cultivate NEW talent and when it works LEAVE IT ALONE.

That's their job, of course. If we viewers actually rewarded networks for the quality of the talent, then thing would work differently. As long as we, essentially, "watch Wal-Mart" on our televisions, then "Wal-Mart" is going to be what the networks provide us.

It's too bad that Hollywood refuses to give us what we actually want, it's such foolishness.
The foolishness is us expecting to get what we want without being collectively willing to make that the best possible use for the networks' investors' money.

That kind of joyous self-indulgence is great for a local rep theater. :thumbsup2

Gonna have to disagree with you there. I'm way happier with the show now that they've given Chloe more story and ditched Lex. He was getting annoying. I always thought she was a main character anyway :confused3

I don't think it is really the end for Heroes producers are said to be in negotiations to end the show with a short mini series or movie. What it is their choice on what they want to do please bring it back.
