It'd been pouring rain all day and I really wanted a cup of coffee so I decided to drop into a bakery in a strip mall where I was running errands. Now I know me and I'm pretty sneaky. I knew if I stepped in there, I'd have a sample piece of cake if not a whole cookie. I thought about Dr. Phil and about creating a lifestyle that supports a healthy weight. Hanging around bakeries DOES NOT fit into that category. With all respect to the Big Guy (not Dr. Phil, the other Big Guy), I thought "What would a skinny person do?" (WWSPD?) With that, I got back in my car and got a skim iced coffee from Dunkin Donuts drive-through. I wouldn't even let the donuts peek out at me from inside (and don't think they weren't trying). It really helped me.

Anyone else have some sneaky strategies?

I LOVE it!!! that is definately planning and preventing putting yourself in a dangerous and tempting situation!!!! cyber high five!

Every time there is junk food lying around work, I used to sample automatically. Now I stop and think first....do I really need to eat this now? Usually not...and later when I get back it's all gone!;)

Congratulations to you! You have found the right attitude. You are in control!
Keep on keepin' on.
