This board has so many wonderful tips, here is what I used. I did make to green pom-poms, one to put on my car antennae and one on my back pack. At first my family laughed but sometimes late at night when you had had enough, it was good just to find the green pom-pom, without trying to remember exactly where we parked. Also I should mention, that I was traveling with 7 Myself, DH, DS(17), DS(13), DD(10) and brother and sister-in-law. My middle son has seizures so we take it slow. We do not park hop, and I let them sleep in and then head to the parks. Most nights we stayed until closing. Because this is our 3 rd time to the parks to see the Christmas displays, we did not schedule to see any of the parades. In my back pack I used: tylneol everyday! Crowds, kids, and family induced headaches. Water bottles, empty and fill at the park. I wasn't sure about this one, but when someone was thirsty, I pulled out their water bottle ( the flat ones ordered on Amazon) with a powdered drink. It worked great! I had bought my daughter a pin lanyard and pins on ebay. This worked out great, it was part of her nightly surprises, and it lessen the amount of "gimmies". ZIPLOCKS ZIPLOCKS ZIPLOCKS!!! Crazy, but I used them everywhere! that is how I organized things in my back pack. Park items- Pressed pennies and pillowcase to sign, Water bottles and powder drink mixes, electronics- ipods, flips and such, First aid-medicines, and bandaids. Glow sticks- great idea! We had a tube everynight ($1 from Michaels) and gave out the extras.
Here is what I would have done differently-my planning folder, put out the extra and buy a plastic one, buy the end of the week it ripped apart. You can't make everything magical. I had alot of extras in gifts planned for my kids, by the end of night I was too tired and needed pixie dust myself. Even with not planning to see the parades, I still felt to rushed, I just tried to remember to stop and smell the roses!! But that was all I would have done differently. Other than that what an awesome time!
I must say that a few things I was shocked about- people in scooters often believe they are in the right no matter what. Now i know that those on here that need to use them are aware of where they are and their actions, but boy! I can't tell you how many times that people just are not aware of manners "please" and "thank you" really do go far.
That being said- Disney does it like no other. I went Thanksgiving week, very busy. Disney just makes it soo smooth. We fast passed rides we really wanted and waited no more than 30 mins for others. Here is the thing, because the line is moving, you don't realize how long you have waited. We'll that was long! I hope I have helped someone!!
