it;s just a completely different perspective isn't it- I think I am right in saying that in the UK circumcision is pretty rare, whereas in the USA it is commonplace -in both countries parents who do not conform to the norm are regarded as odd.

If the same post had been posted on a UK board, I am pretty sure the replies would have been completely opposite (disregarding the religion aspect).

I read that whole thread with great interest.So many of the posters argued that it was better to circumcise otherwise they would be more prone to infection. I've never,ever known a child to have an infection because he was 'uncut',I wonder where their (mis)information comes from?

You are right, there are some really angry people on that board. I really don't understand it. I do resent some of them implying my DH and DS's are "repulsive" sexually. That's okay, probably people I wouldn't want anywhere near my DS's when their time comes for relationships.

I just came over here to get some comfort. I am still feeling beaten up after reading all that.

Thanks for your support ladies. RNMOM, don't be upset - I think because the boards are "anonymous" it's very easy to phrase your thoughts more strongly than you would do in a face to face conversation. Some of these people may have had a bad day at work and are just taking out their frustrations on the debate board. Don't let them get to you. Actually, I've just read the last few pages (up to page 31!) and some of the posts are just hilarious. It seems to be a very sensitive top(ic) doesn't it? Sometimes I'm very glad I'm a girl!
