Here's my $41 ddp

I've been doing the math obsessively for our upcoming trip and have 8 adults going for 7 days. We go very often and I am confident my estimates are close if not a little over what we will actually spend. We will have 5 ts meals ( Tuttu Italia, 'OHana, Sci-fi, Raglan Road and Whispering Canyon Cafe) all other meals are quick service and the budget allows for 1 snack per person per day. Without going into extreme detail, we have the Dx DDP in one room that we will share amongst the 8 family members ( assuming that is still allowed next month) and the rest is oop. I knew where and what we wanted to eat but none of the dining plans matched . Sharing the DX DDP credits works in our favor and I will buy Disney gift cards at 5% off to pay the oop portion. Comes out to $41 per adult per day. Not bad considering our higher end TS restaurants. We will get apps, entrees and desserts with my plan too

Will they allow you to redeem that many TS meals at once? That is the only thing I would question about your plan. They don't encourage sharing of Dining Plans.

With in recent memory (so 2 to 3 years) they stopped discouraging sharing. You now can use all your credits at 1 meal if you want and no one will bat an eye.

I almost did that for our upcoming trip too - and it almost worked out. But we ended up taking a free dining package for all 7 of us.

I can totally see what you are suggesting working well as long as all 8 adults will follow your lead for ordering. My family of 4 will - but I was bringing my brother and his family and the unknowns with a 2nd family also made me more cautious.

The other adults are my kids in their 20's and two friends. I actually budgeted for drinks with QS meals even though they said they will only drink water and some desserts at places like Sunshine Seasons. Also, considering the DxDDP credits come with apps and dessert for everyone I probably budgeted on the high side for snacks.
