Here's a question I haven't seen---FP+ with cast member pass?

As of Monday, CMs can now link their Main Gate passes to MDE and schedule FPs 7 days in advance of their park visit.

CM comp tickets can also be linked to MDE and FPs can be scheduled 30 days in advance for off-site visitors and 60 days in advance for onsite guests. CM comp tickets are regular park hoppers and are not tied to the CMs Main Gates. My DD is a WDW CM and I can use comp tickets at Disneyland without needing to be with her... same at WDW. DH and I can park hop with comp tickets even on blocked out Main Gate days at WDW.

If they are the one day hopper comp tickets, which a CM is allowed to give away to friends and family, they can be linked to MDE and used to book FP+ 60 days in advance. IF the Friend/Family member is registered in a Disney on-site hotel room.

These one day hoppers DO expire, 2 years after they are issued. There is a limit though, you can only link 5 of these at a time. So if a guest is using 6 one day comp passes, they must enter the 6ht one after using the first days' comp pass. Thus, they can only book FP+ for 5 days of the trip.

This has nothing to do with the other CM type passes, like Main Gate passes, where the CM has to enter the park with guests. I am not sure which kind of pass the OP was dealing with....

A co-worker of DH's gave us two of these passes. (He said his DD is a CM and they weren't going to be able to use them before they expired.) He told DH that we need to take them to guest services and exchange them for hard tickets.

I linked them to our DME and made our FP+ 60 days out, no problem. I thought if the tickets showed up on DME that they were "on" our magic bands. Is that not the case? Do I still need to exchange them before we can enter the park?

TIA! (I tried to explain this to DH so he could ask his co-worker but he thought it was too confusing and said I should ask here LOL.) :rotfl:

If you added the ticket number to MDE, and you already have a Magic Band, you should be able to go directly to the gate and enter the park. Use your MB for both entry and FP+. Bring the paper in case you have any issues, but you shouldn't need it.

I did this in Sept, with no problem.

It's only if you don't have a Magic Band that you have to go to Guest Services to get an RFID ticket that will work at touch points.

If they are linked to your MDE/MDX account, they can be accessed by your MagicBand at the entrance tapstiles. You do not need to convert to the plastic tickets. You can take the print-outs with you but you won't need them.

Resurrecting this old thread to ask my question...

I've added a CM comp ticket to my MDE account, but when I go to make FP+ selections, I can only make them for the next 7 days. Did something change, as I thought I'd be able to make selections for 30 days out?

The system knows it is a CM comp ticket so it only gives you a 7 day window. CMs only have 7-day booking windows.

If there is a purchased, regular ticket in the MDE, the booking window will be 30 days for all ticket entitlements.

If you add an onsite reservation to that MDE account, the booking window becomes a 60-day window.

Thanks hiro! I have an onsite reservation but I'm not within my 60-day window yet, so I'll wait for that.

Can a CM using their main gate pass (with an onsite reservation) book their FP+ selections 60 days in advance as well? Or is it 7 days for main gate/guest passes regardless of onsite reservation?

Yes. 60-days if their MDE with Main Gates is linked to the reservation... either by linking the CM's MDE to the MDE with the reservation, or adding the onsite reservation to the CM's MDE.
