Ok, we are planning a June 12-21st DVC trip with the dining plan. So I SHOULD have been making my ADRs for our party of 8 back in December, but, of course, that's a really busy time for a mother of four and it didn't happen until mid January. I figured I was out of luck, but I was wrong. I had absolutely no problem making the following reservations (all of them for 8 people, by the way)
Le Cellier dinner
Cinderella's Royal Table breakfast at opening
Chef Mickeys for breakfast
Teppan Edo for dinner
'Ohana for dinner
'Ohana for breakfast
California Grill for dinner during fireworks times
Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch
Jiko for dinner
Askershus Breakfast
Princess dinner at the Grand Floridian
Artist Point
plus more. The only reservation I wanted that I couldn't get.........
SCI FI DINE IN

Can you believe that. We totally weren't going for the food, the kids just love it there, but nothing, not one reservation for any of our DHS days, wierd. I wonder if June will not be as busy as it usually is?

The simplest answer is likely just that there's a huge difference between booking three months out and booking five months out.

You've booked a few of the really popular tickets, so it wouldn't have been a surprise if *one* of them had been booked. You did well to get all of them.

As for Sci-Fi - try booking two separate reservations for four and see if you have success that way. When your trip arrives, it's possible that you can all be seated by each other, just because of the unique way that the place is arranged.

Fabulous idea! I hadn't even planned on going there, but the kids keep asking if we are going back...

We're going in early June and I tried to change our Le Cellier time, and they were booked for our entire 9 day trip. I'm sure it'll be booking up before long....but hopefully won't be too busy!

I made our ADR's a week ago for our weeklong trip during the week before Easter! I got ALL the places and times I wanted. Even got Ohana for a Sunday night!

I think when there is NO free dining offer, it's a lot easier to make ressies.

I was told when I made some reservations, too, that a lot of people think they still have the 90 day window rather than the 180 day window. So, a lot of people are waiting to make reservations when they shouldn't be. At least, that is what the CM told me when I was surprised to get a reservation. Who knows. I'm just happy to have gotten the reservation I wanted.

I agree. The vast majority of the cars in Sci-Fi seat 6 people (and if you have a reservation, you're guaranteed a car). Very few of them seat more. So it would be much, much easier to book for 2 groups of 4 ... if you want to minimize "hitchhikers" and guarantee you'll get the front seat, book for 5 and 3, which will give you a whole car (5) plus the first two rows of another (3). If you book 4 and 4, you'll get hte first two rows of each of 2 different cars.

Worked like a charm, thanks for the tip! Got two reservations for four at the same time!

We are going June 4 -18 and we were able to get exactly what we wanted as well, including Le Cellier and CRT. I have been surprised as well. I do think it is that a lot of people are still thinking it is 90 days instead of 180 days to make ADRs.

Enjoy you trip.

Maybe we will run into each other, we will be at BLT from the 12th-18th when we transfer to the Villas at Wilderness Lodge
