My DD just informed me that she wants to get married at Disney. Actually she said "I don't care if anyone else is there, I am getting married at Disney." So we went on the website and Holy Cow!!!!! I think I will need to mortgage my house. Just out of curiosity does anyone know if Disney ever deviates from the packages they offer?

All she wants is to have the ceremony in Japan at EPCOT---per groom---. And then a dessert reception for Illuminations. A max of 40 people.

Congratulations!

The Wishes Collection (which is what she'd need to do with 40 people and a Japan ceremony) is not a package, so the price varies depending on which elements you select. The absolute cheapest Wishes event would have to be held Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday with a brunch reception (which works out perfectly with a Japan ceremony — those occur at 9 am) and would cost $13,500 before 6.5% tax and 21% service charge.

The price works like this:

$3,500 for the ceremony

+

$125/person for brunch ($5,000)

+

$5,000 Enhancement minimum Mon-Weds

The only way to bring that down would be to have fewer guests. Also, the dessert party would cost extra because it does not apply to any of the minimums. If you can bear to send people away from the ceremony hungry, you could just have the reception during IllumiNations that night, and then it would count.

However, depending on where you live and what kind of wedding your daughter would want locally, $13,500 ++ may be about the same or cheaper than what you'd pay at home.

If she can get the guest count under 18, she could do an Escape wedding for $6,200 (inclusive of tax and service charge), but the only Epcot location available for that would be Canada.

You may want to ask around in your community what the type of wedding she wants will cost. We hoped our daughter would get married at Disney but she decided more people and local. We were not super-extravagant and spent right sound $50,000. for 200 guests, 5 years ago. We would have saved a ton with 40-50 people at WDW! We are just grateful it was a perfect day, perfect wedding and they are still very happy and very much in love! I'm hoping to do a vow renewal there for mine and spouses 35th in a couple of years!
