Well the time is almost upon us....DH has his surgical Pre-op tomorrow afternoon prior to his planned surgery on wednesday
Hopefully tomorrow we will finally find out exactly what the plan is??

Well op went well apart from the length....He went to Theatre at 1pm and eventually came out of recovery at 8.25pm!!
OMG I was sooo worried about him, I paced the corridors for hours as I didn't want to come home.

Just had a call to say he's leaving the Surgical Special Care Unit this afternoon to return to a general surgical ward.

Roll on visiting tonight as I can't go for the afternoon visiting due to school run's!!

Oh my goodness Karen, you must have been beside yourself with worry for all that time. The 40mins my DD was down having her tonsils out was bad enough, but that long must have been hell

Glad to hear he is on the mend - stay positive

Well you'll never believe it but he's home!! I picked him up yesterday lunch time, his Consultant had been to see him and asked when he wanted to go home, silly question to ask him as his reply was TODAY so he agreed as long as he promised to rest!! I personally think it's too soon as he only had his drains removed that morning, but it's lovely to have him home

Joanne, it was an awful experience, such a long day, with as I said before such poor communication, but then as Adults you don't get told anything as the staff expect you go home and carry on as normal, and ring later for an update, BUT there's no way I was doing that

Thanks Mandy He's slowly looking a bit better, but he's definately getting more rest & sleep at home!! Silly but you can't recover & rest in hospital.
