Well the taxman has come through again!!!
Looks like the trip is on!!! This year we are going the week following Thanksgiving. Last year was my DS and mine first trip to the world. Unfortunately the day after we arrived we were visited by Charlie. Even with the hurricane we had a wonderfull time. But niether of us wanted to deal with that type of weather again!!! So we thought we would try november/december.
I am a little concerned about taking my 16 yo for a week during his junior year of high school. But his grades have been great and he has been working real hard at it. It is also about the only time I can get that kind of time off from work so off we go.
The plan is to leave thanksgiving evening and drive (from richmond Va). Spend friday and saturday and part of sunday at US/IOA and get to disney on sunday afternoon. Then spent monday through sunday at WDW and drive home monday. Is 7 days at this time of year likely to be more relaxed than the 5 1/2 days we had in August? Will the weather also be better? I wouldn't expect hurricanes but what about rain/afternoon storms?
I was wondering if any one had any suggestions about resorts and park strategies for this time of year. I did promise him one night in the Poly because we fell in love with it when we dined at Ohanas last year. Unfortunately I cant afford more than that. We stayed last year at Coronado Springs and at Pop century and enjoyed both (only one night at Pop) and thought we might try Pop for the rest of the week. Any way any thoughts would be appreciated.
