My brother came back from Tokyo on Monday and he said the Nexus line at Pearson was open. He was wishing he had Nexus since it took almost 4 hours to get through customs and pick up his bag.

I can't even imagine that - did he say what the hold-up was? The last time I cleared Canada Customs in Toronto (coming in from Barcelona arriving mid-day) it took maybe 15 minutes and the luggage wasn't super-far behind. This would have been 2018.

I’ll be thankful for Nexus when I fly home in October. I only have a 2 hour layover in Toronto.

The lines are long do to the extra checks - in that are you allowed in the country, are you vaccinated, etc. Even when I flew twice late last year, the customs agent asked all the Covid questions, quarantine plan etc - which made no sense because I had to answer them before getting on the plane, and when I went thru Calgary, at the time you were stopped by AHS when exiting customs and asked asked all questions (I think that trip I answered 4 different times…)

Well travel day was a bit of a disaster. I think my Nexus card fell out of my wallet at MCO near check in. After check in I stopped to organize the 4 boarding passes, and agent didn’t stick on the baggage stickers to our boarding passes like they always do so had that to do as well. I have a special travel wallet that has space for passport, and other side is card slots. Somehow must have slipped out.
Then get to YVR and my suitcase is MIA. still in Seattle. My daughters made it.

ugh. Flying into Vancouver couldn't see anything due to smoke. Not the usual pretty approach.

I enjoyed my trip but even with smoke it’s always good to be home.

I hope your not in an area where the fires are getting close. It's crazy in BC right now. Stay safe!!!!!

Thanks. No fires near us thankfully. But the Okanagan fires are getting worse due to wind. Awful. We really need rain. A few days of it. The ground is so dry. Also the Coquihalla has been closed from Hope to Merritt. Scary.

Glad you made it home safe and sound! Sorry to.hear about your Nexus card Assuming your luggage showed up the next day and was brought to your home? Reading about how much worse the fires are right now while we are in the DR. So horrible

Luggage showed up yesterday morning, Alaska gave me 3,000 mi for the inconvenience. We got a little rain yesterday and today. The fires are awful. But the Coq Hwy opened today. Between Hope & Merritt. A little rain supposed to come Friday. But we need a downpour!
I went online to order new card and report mine lost. I’m a bit worried about loss. What if someone of a criminal mind found it. I don’t know what they could do. Identity theft? Ugh.
Hope you’re having a great vacay! Have a corn dog for me lol! One of my fav DL treats. They don’t have the hand dipped ones in WDW for some reason.
