We've been here since Wednesday and in my opinion it is incredibly crowded (and hot)! I like to compare the feelings of all the planning to the realism of actually being here. Even though I have been here several times I seem to forget the pain--lol--kind OD like child birth, it guess. I forgot just how much walking you have to do! I have no idea where so many of the crowd forecasts say DL is in the green (rather than yellow/red)IT IS CROWDED!!! And it is HOT! There are so so many people. I didn't think it could be more crowded than our November trips, but it is!

The absolute number one rule is to get to the parks EARLY. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO GET ON A NUMBER OF RIDES WITHOUT THE WAIT! Whatever you do, definitely try to do this....it may be hard to wake up, but you won't regret it! By about 10:00 am, the parks have seemed completely full! I think we rode more rides in the early morning hours than the entire rest of the day. I' m not saying it isn't fun, but it is definitely exhausting--I think we may be done with Disney for a bit--maybe try their cruise line next time, we'll see! Maybe I am just getting old ;)

I was there last weekend (Fri/Sat) and while the walkways were crowded, the ride lines were all pretty nice, even Indy and Space were under an hour all day.

We did escape to the Alfresco wine tasting terrace above Trattoria in DCA during the heat of the day and it was like a little piece of heaven. It was so quiet and peaceful up there.

After reading these boards "crowds" seems to be a very subjective term. To me it isn't unbearably crowded until we start seeing 120 minute waits on Splash, Space, Indy and 45-60 on the lower tier of rides.

It is really hot in SoCal this week though, and next week is going to be worse.

Yep, maybe I just have low thresh-hold for crowds--waaaaay too much for me! Lol! Time for a different adventure for this fam!

I've been watching the wait times on mousewait and Touring Plans and the wait times seem pretty good in comparison to the last few years when we went. I'm hoping that they remain the same next week when we are there.

I agree with you though, it is very exhausting to go on a Disney vacation. It's not relaxing by any means. I love Disney but I would like to take a nice relaxing vacation sometime!

We'll be there in a couple of weeks... temps in the 80's sadly look cool compared to our 90-100 degree temps. But of course we aren't spending the entire day outside here.

I've always preached arriving at RD when we have a short visit - which is what this one will be (two days total). No sense sleeping in and missing park time. We can sleep when we get home.

we've always gone in the summer, so I am used to crowds… have you gone in summer before? I'm just wondering if it is more crowded than usual in the summer… To me, the 'norm' is to have at least 120min waits for Indy, Space, and Splash, and 30-45min waits for the others… would you say that is fairly accurate? Or is it less, or more than that? I'm just interested so I can gauge it in my own mind :)

You have gone to WDW or DLR during the summer? 120 min. waits for anything are not the norm at DL. Maybe at WDW. The headliners seem to be topping out at around 60 mins.(during the summer) and much less than that for the fast loading or secondary attractions.

I have been peeking in at Mousewait over the past few weeks since our trip in June and have only seen waits decrease slightly from when we where there. Summer wait times for rides seem very reasonable to me, especially if you arrive at RD each day. DL does feel crowded but the lower wait times make up for it IMO.

Awesome! No, I haven't been to WDW ever, but the last 4 times I have been to DL have been in July, early August, and I thought 120min was pretty typical… We went for our honeymoon in late August one year and the waits were down around 20-30min for things like POTC and I thought I had died and gone to heaven! I was hoping that it would be 'light' like that when we go back this year, August 11-15…

Been here since 7/5 and have not seen a wait tme posted over 60 mintes and that was for RSR, the rest are 45 min or less!
