Here now- thoughts on the new JW Marriott

I’ll also add the JW has the most beautiful seating area outside, very peaceful. Last night they had a trio of live music, violins and cello I believe with the whole back area lit in candles and seating for the guests. They had an outdoor bar you could walk up to as well as you sat and listened. So pretty and such a unique thing to offer. Also, the employees are insanely friendly. We kept hearing as we walked around “welcome to our hotel” “welcome back” as we would walk back from the park. They have cold water bottles behind the front desk you just need to ask for one. We asked for a few a day.

Also I feel like you should be getting a discount code for the JW with all the free promotion you’re giving them!! 😂 We should start a campaign

It doesn't seem kid friendly, although would be lovely for an adults only stay.

I looked at the king room with the trundle bed, but they don't allow a rollaway, so that only sleeps 3. They also don't allow a rollaway in the 2 queen room. And upon trying, even the suites don't allow a rollaway. Is this a California thing? I know fire codes often restrict rollaways due to space, but the suites have a separate bedroom, living room and 2 bathrooms, so seems there would be space there? And while on the topic, why is a crib allowed in a room but not a rollaway (as is the case at this JW)?

A better question would be is if they even have rollaway beds at all. I don't think this has to do with fire code but business strategy. JW Marriott being a luxury hotel does not want a half dozen college kids or a budget focused family stuffing themselves into a room. The brand's target market is higher end business travelers who generally travel alone. But sometimes these business people also travel with family so cribs are available to make that possible.

I think this hotel is designed more for higher level managers going to the convention center than a large family planning to visit Disneyland. If they wanted to target the latter, they would have a fun pool for children and suites with more beds.

They might just not actually have rollaways. Its not something you'd typically find at a hotel of this caliber.
