We arrived yesterday at 2:30, around the same time as the candlelight processional check-ins. They had a separate check-in process, and our check-in was quick. Our room was ready at 4:30.

By then, we were in the spa. Whoa, it is lovely. When we arrived at 3:15, we were the only ones in the locker rooms or relaxation area. I had an express mani (great!) and a Mindful Traveler on the recommendation of a DIS poster. It was FANTASTIC. All the chairs were full, and everyone else fell asleep! You can see what it’s like through the window outside GCH Craftsman Grill. My hus fell asleep during his head, hand, foot massage. He never does that! The steam rooms are closed. The relaxation room is not large, but it’s nice. They had wonderful infused water and Evian in the fridge below (tip—easily missed!).

The relaxation area was packed at 4 and seemed to be so on the hour. A few were maskless. I didn’t know where to go, honestly, so I stood near the stone, which was actually very calming.

DD was packed last night, so we came back to the lobby and loved loved loved the handbell carolers! Didn’t expect them, and they were singing every 1/2 hour; last show at 8:30.

GCH Craftsman food was really good, and there were empty tables at 8:30. Nice live music, too!

Today, we went into DL around 8:30a. We walked right through the gates, no line, sparse on Main St. the popular rides were filled up, so we went in the Carousel and Storybook Canal Boats (my fave), and then walked around and to our Carnation Cafe res. True, they’ve gutted the menu, but are getting a lot of ‘comments’ about it. They def have the ability to cook up fresh eggs. No one I spoke to knows why that’s not on the menu anymore. The waffle was great, though. My hus passed on breakfast. Also, the potatoes are no longer Oscar’s, and the new ones have wheat as an ingredient, FYI if you are GF. They do still have GF pancakes and waffles.

We left to go back to the hotel at 11. Both of us were uncomfortable with how close people were to each other in the SCB ride line, with more than half without masks in still air. Same with the other lines we saw. But neither of us go on many rides, anyway. We are long-timers. Looking forward to the pool!

The decorations are gorgeous, and it all feels festive and sparkly. There’s a wedding reception out in the courtyard right now!

I think this week will see far fewer people since those staying after TG are gone, CP is over, and school’s still in most places.

Thanks to all DISers for so many great tips. Heading off for a Mickey gingerbread and to watch those spectacular Indian dancers in DCA! Our absolute favorite.

SPA sounds so nice <3

I think they are not cooking eggs so they don't have to do "custom" orders so to speak, and are able to serve faster (and get you out faster). Which I get, but still, kinda silly at this point.

Question, what's SCB? I can't for the life of me figure it out haha
