Here now. Some observations for people.

I just bought for every day we were there. But the parks were predicted to be crowded every day and I just wanted it taken care of.

But I think it depends on how you like your trip. Like say you know some days you want to spend more time eating, watching shows etc and may only hit a couple rides then I probably wouldn’t. But if you want to hit a bunch of rides every day and it’s going to be busy then I would.

Also they just added space, frozen and I think Mickey and minnies run away railroad to the regular genie +. You no longer have to pay extra for them. That happened while we were there.
Thank you. We are pretty big ride people but mostly at DHS and MK. We could probably get by without it at Epcot and AKL.

Where did you stay while you were there? I keep going back and forth between AKL and Port Orleans. If we stay at Port Orleans we will have a car for the whole trip. If we go to AKL we will get rid of it to try to keep the costs reasonable. I’m having a tough time deciding. I‘m really wondering if those Deluxe evening hours are worth giving up the car. I love both resorts equally.

We stayed at French quarter.

We went in January...very last minute, booked Monday night and flew down Wednesday morning. It had been 25 months since our last visit...thank you Covid. I had not really kept up with new things like Genie but I honestly thought we were not going to be going to any parks. We stayed at ASMu because it was the only thing available that was not $600+/night. We were just super happy to be going and being onsite was going to be enough. LOL....not! Sitting in our room late Wednesday night we discussed what were we doing the next day. Didn't I end up buying 1 day park tickets for the next day. We got up early and headed to MK with the plan that we would probably only get a ride or two in but we were both totally content to just be in the park smelling the smells and seeing the castle. Things turned out really well, we managed lots of rides without more than a 30ish minute wait. I was totally floored to see the crowds...it was very busy and hardly anyone wearing masks. The ride lines gave me a fair bit of stress. Even though they had the bulk of the line outside people did not space out at all. We tried and my DD was constantly having to tell me that it was ok...that I was ok. One thing that I noticed was that the CM's did absolutely nothing about people not wearing masks in the places that they were required to. I understand though that they are tired of dealing with nasty people.

My DD turned 21 at the start of Covid and had planned to have her first legal American cocktail at WDW which didn't happen. So she was determined to get in to Enchanted Rose (I think that's what it's called) at the GF. We went, the line was really long and she was mad and stomped off in a huff. I went back and asked how long it might take to get in and was told it could be an hour or more BUT they have a take out spot at the bar. So we bought 2 drinks...at a cost of $45, yes I'm crazy....and took them to sit downstairs by the piano. While sitting there doesn't this kid talk me into buying another 1 day park ticket for the next day. Raise your hand if something takes over your body while at WDW and you lose all control of your credit card.

While POR is my fav moderate, if you stay at CBR it is easier to give up car with skyliner transportation. We booked a standard view room and requested Jamaica 45. Got a beautiful view of a patio courtyard and could see the Skyliner gondolas. CBR is a beautiful resort, and the improved main building is very nice. Food court had good options and the TS was great.

Hmmm you make a very interesting point. I wonder if that is the answer for us!? I’ll run it by my husband.

No, it's a secret formula that Disney puts in all the drinks, water fountains, and maybe even the Orlando municipal water supply. They call it wallet laxative...

If you do stay there be sure to make a res for their TS, Sebastian’s. Really great meal. And so many options open up with Skyliner. Very easy to just nip over to Epcot resorts for dining and we also walked over to Riveria for a couple of meals and a look around!
While I love POR I felt CBR Skyliner was a game changer.
Room location is very important at CBR. Imo either Jamaica or Aruba location close to foot bridge to main building is ideal.
