Anyone ever hear of this happening? I bought two Tshirts and a blanket at Mouse Gears in Epcot. Had them sent back to my resort CBR. Picked it up today and my ticket is stapled to the bag but it's not my merchandise in the bag. The ticket inside the bag says it belongs to someone at the beach club. I took the bag back to package pick up at CBR and they were baffled, as if it never happens. I check out Wednesday and didn't want to keep screwing around with it, so I had them refund my purchase and I'll just re-buy the stuff at some point I guess. I am curious how it would have been handled and how long it would have taken had I not gotten the refund. This ever happen to anyone else?

No
I have used the package delivery service many times without any problems. I agree it sounds like an aberration. Unfortunately people work at Mouse Gears and Human Errors occur.
Sorry this happened to you

We have used the package delivery service many many times and only had an issue once. Picked up our package a the beach club - opened and checked it right away and it was baby items (I have teens!). In my case the CM did know what to do, she took my receipt and I had my correct items the next day.

I haven't had it happen but I wouldn't be surprised.

I've seen CM's in a hurry just put the form on top of the bag of merchandise instead of attaching it to the bag so they could get to the next person in line faster. I wouldn't have been surprised if those tags got mixed up.

Sorry it happened to you.

I'm sorry this happened. We use package delivery all the time and have never had any problems.

I was there at the same time and had my package go tot the wrong hotel. They figured it out and said they would have it the next day. It wasn't a big deal because we went checking out that day.

We had a package mix up at BLT once. We took it back and informed them and they got it straightened out within a day. We weren't leaving that day so it wasn't an issue. Out of the dozens of packages I have sent to the resorts over the years, this is the only mix up. They straightened it out right away, so all is good.
I do recommend that you pick up your packages within a couple of days of them arriving at the resort and review them. It would be horrible to pick them up the day of departure only to find there was a mix up.

I personally haven't had any problems with the package delivery service, but I was standing in line next to someone that did. They only received part of their purchase. The CM suggested they take the package back to the store (Mitsukoshi) and try to get the missing items replaced or refunded. I don't know if this was the case because Mitsukoshi is a third-party store or not. In general I think the package delivery service is fine, but I agree that human errors are likely the cause of items missing or wrong packages being sent. Hopefully you get it all worked out!

Used the service many times and noticed this year the CMs at POR made us check the package was correct then and there. Never had to do that before but maybe there have been more instances of mix ups recently.

We had a mixup once and they found our correct merchandise the next day, plus insisted we keep the wrong item. Yes INSISTED! It is the ugliest Splash Mtn frame ever, but my family refuses to let me toss or stow it, but instead it's in our living room! (I have a feeling it was the only way to get rid of the inventory!)

Interesting experiences. Sounds like for the most part, people get it straightened out easily. I must have been dealing with an uninformed CM. I had to explain three times what the issue was, and then she began looking in the cabinet again as if my bag may have been in there - she couldn't grasp that they mixed up my bag at the store it was purchased at. She then called a manager over and once we figured out the owner of the bag in my possession was at the Beach Club, they stood there in silence I guess trying to figure out what to do. That's when I said forget it, just refund me. I fortunately was able to re-buy everything at World of Disney. I will say this is the only time I've ever had an issue like this, but just not real impressed with the way it was handled at CBR.

I'm sorry that this happened to you, OP. Every time we have had purchases sent to our resort, the CM used so many staples, there was no way the package would open accidentally, or the receipt fall off. Sorry you had to spend extra time re-buying your bag of Disney goodies.

The problem at Mouse Gears (and actually some other stores I saw) was that it was so busy, they set my bag and my slip on the counter behind them and moved to the next person before stapling it and securing it. It wasn't a case of the slip falling off, it was a case of them being too rushed and then later inadvertently mixing up the slips. Obviously a mistake, but their carelessness turned into a hassle for the guest, and a hassle again when it was handled in a less than stellar way. But I digress! All is well now.

Whoever had the idea to leave packages and receipts loose and afffix them later can only be called inept. Reading thru your thread, you weren't the only one with a mix-up. It takes one second to staple a receipt to a bag. More staples can be added later after they clear their jam at the register. I'll be on the lookout for that poor procedure with our future packages, and insist on a staple or two right then and there. Wow.
