here now, quick update

We were in MK all day and when the crazy rain started with tornado warnings, we were on The Carousel of Progress. We came out to the down pour and turned right around and got back on the ride :)
Honestly I don't know where the reports of a tornado actually touching down are coming from because we saw nothing like that. It wasn't even all that bad.

How are things there is morning? ( We're driving up this afternoon from South Florida.)

It's a steady rain....much cooler than forecasted...I would say low 70's....with a cool breeze....we are at pop now....there's some indoor activities we plan on doing today....scavenger hunt....pin trading.....pez guessing game.....photo op.....MNSSHP tonight....great day to be at Disney :)

At 8:30 we left AK and stopped by Target on Bronson. At 8:45 or so phone started going off. Tornado warning take shelter. DD and I were freaked out and took shelter in the bathroom. Some guy was like oh its just a warning. Well as FYI tornado warning means one has been spotted. Spoke with store manager all ok one one spotted north i believe. So DD was crying and we left. Coming back the whole way they radio had siren warning to take cover for some area in Orange county. I dont know where that was in relation to disney but we saw all the fireworks. I kept telling DD as long as Disney is still showing them we are ok!! According to radio ntornado was spotted on radar

We came home from Disney on Wednesday so we missed all the bad weather. Everyone stay safe!

Yup. Go figure. Rain in Florida in August. Who would have guessed?

Dude, you really need to relax with your holier than thou responses putting people down over and over.

I was also in Disney Springs last night and yes the entire area stopped cold when everyone's phones went off with a tornado warning to shelter in place.

No we didn't get much rain over there last night but the wind did pick up for a while. When we were leaving World Drive was soaked so some heavy rain bands must have went through over that way.
People know Florida late summer ran, this week has not been the usual Florida late summer rain

Hahahaha!!!!

Hardly any rain, almost zero wind. I didn't see a storm roll through that could produce a twister.

I'm 10 miles away and have been drinking beer outside on my porch.

We were doing the same last night. DH and I were shrugging it off but it was less funny this morning when he had to get up and drive her to school. Nothing severe but her bus picks her up about 3/4 of a mile from our house and she would have been drenched. Now all is calm again. We are in Seminole County and seem to have missed most of it, thankfully. Hoping it won't rain (too much) during our party tonight though.

It was horrible this morning from around 4 am through 8 am. High winds, torrential rain and non stop thunder/lighting. Since then it has settled into an on and off steady rain as the last outer bands make it's way through the area

Thank you for that report.

As a local, you should understand how much of a difference 10 miles can make.

While it was relatively calm most of the night, massive rains did move into Magic Kingdom just before 9, to the point of Celebrate the Magic barely being visible on the castle, even with the new projectors.

The echo of the tornado warning phone alerts throughout the park was pretty intense, especially to those who aren't used to this type of severe weather. There was also suspected tornado, or at least wind damage, in Winter Garden

not to be controversial, we've been to wdw many times in august and nothing has ever come close to this. you may be a florida native and used to this, but this isn't normal rain- to the point where we've talked to people who were hurt by the rain on rides, and us being stuck in shops for hours waiting out the rain.

around 5 there was a big thunderstorm outside AKL and woke me up, today has been beautiful so far!

Overall, it hasn't been too bad. Most of the heaviest and steadiest rains have actually come during the latr and overnight hours. The brief torrential downpours have been difficult, but fortunately there haven't been too many. Thursday night had the few (we were actually going up Everest when everyone's phone started going off for the tornado warning) and that was rough. Otherwise though when it was just light showers it has been fine. It has kept the temperatures very comfortable. We have been here since Tuesday and have not used a drop of sunscreen yet! That will change today.

It is nice and sunny today, but the trend (even before the hurricane) has been rain at 3ish.

yes, the weather was great today! though it rained today for about 30 minutes around 11:30ish.

unrelated, but we're leaving tomorrow and our flight might get cancelled due to the weather up north. i hope it doesn't!
