Here now, OMG buses.

*
Actually that does sound good. I wonder how it tastes? :)

I can tell you it's exactly as good as it sounds. And this time of year every coffeeshop in the neighbourhood has its own variation. Some of them sprinkle cinnamon on the whipped cream and caramel topping, and others put actual cinnamon sticks in the drink! :thumbsup2

I bet if Disney was selling them from carts at the bus stop, they'd have a lot more contented, mellow people waiting in line.

Have a Magical Day!

Oh wow! Thank you SO much! I bet I can arrange to meet my husband downtown for a late lunch, and a drink at Starbucks after...

I have experienced long waits, but the people in ECVs that take up to 20 minutes to load from my experience are people who obiviously have no experience in using an ECV. Now this may because they they have hurt themselves and don't use one on a normal basis, but even though it may be rare there are people who abuse the use of ECVs (i.e. front of the line access for rides, shows, parades, etc.,).
What front of the line access. It doesn't exist. While I may or may not be in the same line as you are I am certainly not getting front of the line access. Haven't in the 15 years I have been using a mobility device. Yes I do get the front at some shows like the castle. I get it because I arrive 45 minutes ahead of time and wait so I can be close enough to see the sign language interpreters which I also need. Get there late and many of the CM will not even attempt to get me to a place I can see. At shows like American Idol I have to argue because CM insist I must sit in the back even if I cannot see the interpreter from there. Same for parades. I arrive early and wait and because I use the interpreters where I am placed it is not always comfortable. Try having some kid swinging on the ropes and hitting you over and over with that rope.

:thumbsup2 You're Welcome. I don't really like Starbucks but I'm going to try out their gourmet drinks. Have fun! :)

I think some people on this thread, from both sides of the argument, need to relax and take a deep breath.

The fact that people are looking through each other's post history and reporting each other is just nonsense. I don't understand why people, when each person knows the argument will not be resolved, just don't respectfully disagree. It's a skill that I've found very, very helpful throughout my life.

By the way, relax with the entailment thing. It gets kinda annoying.

I respectfully disagree. :lmao:

Ive lurked for 32 pages and will say they probably should improve the bus system (coming from someone who travels with a handicapped person regularly). What happened to those larger buses they were experimenting with? The one with two cars connected together who's name escapes me? That might give the masses and ecv/strollers more room and could ease complaints.

As for the conduct around here. Just c'mon now. Its a Disney board. Let's just all be civil and have a constructive discussion.

Articulated buses. Apologies if someone else has answered this, but I wanted to show off my knowledge :rotfl2:.
Disney is still working on them. Bus stops at the parks need to be adjusted for the additional length.

Oops. I meant entitlement not entailment. Probably should read my posts before posting, but I'm too busy playing my nightly DISboards Drinking Game with Coca-Cola (I don't drink alcohol).:rotfl:

We tried some from Holiday drinks before, not bad but do not ask me what it was, I drive, DD orders, she speaks SB, I don't. ;)

My boyfriend has Cerebral Palsy and uses a power wheelchair. We have been to WDW 11 times together and have used the free Disney transportation system exclusively. The system for loading thousands of people a day is not perfect, far from it, but if people don't like it there are many alternatives. Take a taxi, rent a vehicle, bring your own.

The rule is the person in the mobility device and up to five others may enter through the back door. There should be signs at the beginning of the lines at the parks like they have at many of the resorts stating this rule. Disney does need to train their drivers and support staff to handle the excessive amount of people trying to enter through the back of the bus.

My opinion, especially at park closing there should be a CM at the back of the line asking the person in the mobility device how many are in their party and then informing them again of the rule. When they get to the front of the line after going through the queue, if they are still trying to take more people than allowed the CM up front needs to inform them again it is not going to happen. At that point the extra people have already had their wait in line anyway and can load in the front of the bus.

My boyfriend would give anything to be able to walk and stand in line for a bus, people don't tend to think about that. They would rather give dirty looks or say things like "it must be nice to get on the bus first". The bus gets us all there at the same time and while everyone else has disembarked, Bill patiently waits until the bus is empty to have the driver take the tie downs off his chair. We are thankful that we can use all of Disney's transportation systems.

I'm moving this from the "Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies" forum to the "Transportation" forum.

Carry on!

Okay guys...I've deleted a ton of posts. Tomorrow I'll do more cleanup. But I have a life outside of the DIS...so I'm away for a few hours.
I do NOT want to see anymore posts about who's feelings are being hurt. I have tried to deal with this on a one on one basis.
Here's the thing...every single person is allowed to have their opinion. If you don't like someone's opinion, that's fine, but they are entitled to it. And that goes both ways!!!
So, either knock it off, or stop posting.
Have a good night.

I hear a lowly train whistle in the background and picture tumbleweeds bouncing around somewhere in Dis-land as the clinking of metal cowboy spurs grows louder as the sheriff saunters near...
