got here this morning, arrived at 10am switched my plan from DCA to DL last minute. Was able to do pirates with a 20 min wait and then MP big thunder, haunted mansion, splash. Very hot today so got a dole whip and headed to tiki room. Decided to add PH and then went to DCA around 3pm. Super busy in both parks. We were somehow able to snag an Incredicoaster MP. Walked around the pier a bit and then went to Lamp Light Lounge that I had a reservation for.

Incredicoaster- please hold off judgement by looking at a YouTube video and then tell the masses it’s a disappointment. It was awesome! I liked it so much better then CS, and I loved that ride.

Lamplight lounge- got a bunch of apps, have to say the lobster nachos were our least favorite. Potatoes were great as well as the carne asada roll, which surprised me. Got a blue slush ice drink with rum there as well, it was good! FYI....they do not take Disney visa redemption card, learned that the hard way. Sounds like they eventually will but not right now. We sat in very comfy chairs with a low table by the water. Loved it!

Came back to the Hyatt regency at 8pm. Pooped but ready to hit the parks early tomorrow.

No disney redemption card is really weird. I wonder if they take Disney gift cards and on-site room keys?

ROFL on Incredicoaster. Noted! Definitely sucks ;)

Yeah I was surprised too, the manager even came over and tried and said sorry it keeps getting denied. I called chase and they said it’s not showing as accepting the redemption card yet. No idea on gift cards and room key, I’m assuming those will work though?

Good to know! We're headed there next week with a group of 14 people. We plan on doing MaxPass, and going to try the Lines app for the first time. As a WDW vet, I never think to use those planning apps, but with this large of a group at DL, I thought we'd give it a try. Looks cool - we'll see how well it works for us.

Please define hot...it was suppose to be comfortable all week as posted here on the site.
Well I’m from Oregon, so hot is probably something different to me, It’s funny, it’s been low 80s but somehow at Disney it always feels hotter! I think all the pavement and crowds just adds to it. There has been a nice breeze though so that’s helpful. I believe next week it’s supposed to be warmer though? We’ve gone thru ton of water, they are making their $ on us for for sure.

It’s funny, I’ve been to DL many times and we’ve never needed PH. We usually only get them at WDW. But this time, with the crowds, it was needed!
We do the opposite. We never can get to 2 parks in one day in WDW. Interesting.

Today's high on Main Street at Disneyland was 80. Yesterday was 81.

The UV index was 11. The sun is very strong and with no clouds, it feels VERY hot. The shade feels very nice and there has been a breeze.

We use a UV blocker umbrella at DL in the summer. Makes a huge difference in our comfort level.

Same! No PH'ers for us at WDW...just way too much hassle and time but at DLR, oh yeah, we hopped and we hopped easily. I love that about DLR!

We are from CO where the sun is intense but I was surprised at how hot it felt in Anaheim. And how much of a sunburn we all got!! We were constantly applying sunblock on our noses and shoulders, whereas, here at home, we really don't need much sunblock. Even at the low 80's, it was hot and the sun was very strong.

If you don't want to spend all your money on water you're welcome to bring in your own and the CS restaurants will give you cups of ice water for free too.
