Here now...may pull my hair out!

One - Don't pull your hair out. As a balding man, I wouldn't recommend it.

I'd recommend sitting down in the hotel during some off time and writing everything down. I always bring a printed itinerary complete with confirmation numbers, times, etc. You simply can't depend on that app.

I've been having troubles at home since yesterday early afternoon. The App won't search dining & keeps telling me an error occured.

The website on my iphone browser keeps giving me Donald. I haven't had any issues & have been scouring for reservations for the last 3 wks. Updated the App, now nothing works properly. OP this is not only an in-park problem right now.

For my October trip I had the Concierge print out our plans and loved going old school... the layout was really nice and easy to read. As many have mentioned, going the written/paper route doesn't help when trying to change things on the fly, but I'll definitely use the printout again.

I know this won't help with the changing on the fly but what I did each night was take a screen grab of our plans for the next day and I made that my lock screen on my phone. This way I could quickly remind myself where we needed to be and when without taking up much battery power on my phone and without needing to access the app/website. Again, I know this won't help with changing but I found myself checking fairly often just to make sure we were timing things right (some of our FP had overlaps, not exactly the same time so I found myself needing the reassurance we were running on schedule).

saw this tip on the DIS and did it for our trip last month; so easy to see where we needed to be and when

I am having trouble with the MDE app with dining reservations today on my iphone here at home which is 2.5hrs away. Definitely use services of your resort concierge and guest services for help.

A week and a half ago, MDE was screwing up for a day right after the iOS app was updated. I wish they'd get a handle on this. We came home with a few other people's Photopass photos, which has never happened before, so it's probably a database corruption issue.

I did the same thing. It worked great.

The new android app worked flawlessly for me on our past trip. Like some others have said, I tend to disconnect from the WiFi and use data just because it's faster.

YES! I despise trying to use MDE in the parks. The app is trash. I have given up on it totally. The website much better and typically works for me but I have to turn off wifi. That is more trash than the MDE app is. Using data only and the website = me not wanting to throw my phone across the park.

Did you turn off other apps before using MDE? It's a big app, needs to be running by itself.

Sounds like your phone can't handle the larger apps then - perhaps it is time to upgrade. My iPhone 5s handles the app just fine.
Phone is brand new. Even had it delivered to Disney as I broke mine while in the park. Seeing how plenty other others hate the app it's not just my phone

Very good pointer AngiTN. I just can NOT FATHOM how this massive company decided to basically invest EVERYTHING into this internet based coordination app / service, and then did nothing to ensure their in park wifi (which already had a ton of problems) could handle the traffic / demand that would be placed on it.

I am fortunate enough that I can buy US data coverage relatively cheap when I visit, but I imagine many people can't and so they are stuck using the wifi in parks, and advantage for me, perhaps, but not how this should have been done.

I told DH if I saw headless Olaf one more time I was gonna lose my mind LOL!

OMG. The decapitated Olaf is making me lose my mind! Yesterday was my FP day, and I've spent the past two days trying to tweak times - I've seen the headless Olaf more times than I've successfully done anything! Chrome, Firefox, the app on my S5, using Chrome on my phone. It's all a mess.

Apple app is different than the android one, don't worry your time to have this mess is coming soon. I don't like the newest version.

It's probably also due to the increased crowds in the parks right now. I use Touring Plans and print out my plans. I will be interested to see if my new iPhone works better next week. My 4S was way too slow and miserable in the park. I also use the Touring Plans Lines app, which always worked better than MDE. Heck, I have been having trouble with the parks shopping app and the MDE website at home, so who knows:confused3

Personally I've never had a major problem. I tend to use my data in the parks though. With high crowds the wifi gets bogged down and doesn't work all that well. That goes for any major crowded place with wifi. Sports stadiums, even my college, can get bogged down wifi due to the amount of people.

For my September trip, I never really got the app working well on our iPhone 6S. I ended up mostly using my daughter's iPhone 5 - for some weird reason the app worked better there. Also, opening the mobile website on Safari was the best for most things. Still, it was endlessly frustrating and making changes was not as easy as I had hoped. Plus, my battery drained ridiculously quickly.

I actually went and stood in line once at a FP+ kiosk so a CM could help me because the app/mobile site was driving me nuts.

I went to Guest Services a few times to get printouts of my plans for the day - much easier to see. It was funny though - they had a REALLY hard time figuring out how to do the printout with some CMs saying it couldn't be done. The first time I did it, I went to the new Guest Services next to Space Mountain (is that still open?) - loved it as there was barely anyone there. 2nd time was at Epcot's Guest Services and I had to wait in line.

side question - why don't they consistently have someone screening the guests to determine questions (and handling easy stuff)? I had to leave my phone there to charge and it was frustrating waiting 10 mins in line just to pick up my phone.

There's nothing more frustrating than slow loading apps/websites. I usually put all my Fastpasses and Reservations into my google calendar in advance of the trip. Then, it syncs up with my phone and watch independent of anything else. The apple watch calendar complication allows me to see what's up next without pulling out my phone. I mainly use my data plan when out and about, the wifi is even terrible at the office so I don't even bother. I didn't really have any trouble with the app or internet access but I doubt October had as many people clogging up the towers are there are now.
