Here Now May 9-17 Great Start!

Will try to keep this brief but I do talk a lot about modifying for FP throughout the day. We got to Florida a couple of days early so these first couple of days weren't booked 60 days out and just thrown together morning of. 3 people, crowds have been great.

May 9th at Epcot we were only going to be there for the afternoon so set 2 tier 2 FP's for the morning to burn them. Between 1 and 6 we rode Soarin, TT, and Frozen twice each.

Today we were at MK and got there around 10:00. Here's the list of attractions we did before 5:30 when we left the park for dinner and to go back to the resort. Just wanted to let people know it's not the end of the world if you don't get your FP's at 60 days or don't get the best rides ahead of time.

Hm. Looks like TP has MK at a 4 yesterday. I wonder if this is realistic for a 7-8 or 9-10 day.

This trip is for my daughter's 13th birthday and before this trip she told me that she didn't want to just do the big rides over and over....she wanted to do everything (though she is a thrill seeker and loves the big rides). Shucks lol. Today AK is quite busy, I'm guessing because it's one of the few days with no EMH. Being our first day after check in we weren't able to get a FP for FOP. We're doing the shows and stuff like that (headed to Rafiki's right now). After using 3 FP's I was able to get a 2:40 FOP FP which normally I would be hesitant to take but because I'm following orders we're just going to do some shows in the meantime. We did RD Everest twice SB before riding Navi, Safari, and Its tough to be a bug (to use up our 3rd FP...thankfully I skipped out for a business call).

To answer the question about modifying on busier days, yes it is very possible as I did it in December with this sorts of crowd levels.

I'm not spending much time looking for each FP (often under a minute up to 3 minutes). FOP did take much longer though.

We were at HS today and so the update with regards to FP's is quite boring. With no TSM FP there's only 2 rides that we do (RnR & ToT). We rode those and did a few shows. I did keep an eye out on refreshing FP's and could have gotten any ride at any time with very little effort. Did SB for TSM which was posted at 80 minutes but took 60 minutes. Missed RD and not planning to be there tonight so did the wait to keep DW happy (felt strange waiting in a line like that). We might hit another park after dinner.

Short story, FP's are boring & easy there until more rides come online. Looking forward to the challenge of SDD.

At the end of our DHS day, they had released TSM FP+. That was on May 5.

ETA so keep looking! I ALMOST got one for our family but the app froze and it was gone. About an hour or so before Fantasmic.

I hope all of these wonderful trip reports we've been reading for the last 5-6 weeks puts to rest the contention that "Disney is always busy/crowded/packed". There are huge swaths of time throughout the year when it isn't.

Also, if the last couple of summers are any indication, the next few months shouldn't be bad at all either.

We decided to go to MK for a few rides and fireworks. After the fireworks we figured we would hit PotC SB as it was only 25 minutes and we had grabbed a FP for after that. I've ridden PotC many times but learned a valuable lesson tonight. Never ride standby there again. That was the first time we've not used a FP there and the 25 minutes turned into 45 minutes of long queues. Have to just rely on FP.

That's incredible, glad you're having such a good time. We were at Epcot yesterday and it seemed pretty empty especially with the rain. Did good with FP before lunch, but after lunch it didn't matter how much I refreshed there was no FP for TT, Soarin, Mission Space or Elsa to be had. Could have gotten plenty for Nemo,PixarSHorts, Figment etc. but no shot at the big rides. Maybe I'm just not as lucky at FPs as other people.

Today is my daughter's birthday so she got to decide what to do. She wanted to do her favourite ride, snack, and picture at each park. We'll throw in a few extra rides as well. She then wants to finish the night with dessert and fireworks at TOWL.

Started at AK. EE standby shortly after RD.
Had a FP for FOP and once we tapped into it I added a FP for ToT and TT. AK seemed to be getting busy when we left shortly after 10:00. HS wasn't very busy from what we saw. Now off to Epcot!
