So we had a LL booked for Grizzly and it said “temporarily closed” when our window opened, and continued to say that for 10 minutes, but it never changed to a MEP. Does it not work that way anymore? Did it change in the last year? (It feels like an eternity since I was here last Sept!)

No it changed for us in June I don’t believe anything has changed.
 
Does it usually convert to an MEP if it closed when you window is open? I assumed it would need to be down your entire window for it to convert to an MEP.

(I have never used LLMP)
 

It has to be closed for the whole window (or close to it) now.

We went to bat over this with several guest services teams back when the Pirates LL only turned into another Pirates LL - not a multi-experience pass.

Pirates was down. So we couldn’t use the LL. We also couldn’t book a new one since the Pirates one was unused. We were trying to get them to just give us a “anytime” Pirates one so we could cancel the current one and book something new - since it wasn’t a MEP, we thought maybe they would help us out since we would just be using it to ride Pirates no matter what. They wouldn’t. We had to wait for the entire window to be closed and then it still took 10 more minutes to convert! We were so annoyed.

When was this? That was not our experience two weeks ago. Mickey and Minnie‘s runaway railway went down right after our window opened and we immediately got a multiple experiences pass.

One thing I have noticed is sometimes it takes a little while for the multiple experience pass to show up. And sometimes it doesn’t show up everywhere and I could only find it by looking at My Day in the app. And sometimes if the ride come back up quick enough, you don’t get one. I don’t know the rhyme or reason for anything as it seems inconsistent.

More than once in the last few months, we have gotten multiple experiences passes for a ride going down, but only three out of the four people in our party got them, even though we all had LL for that ride. When that happened I just told the cast member when we were scanning in with the multiple experiences passes that one person in our party never had theirs pop up and they always just waved us through.

I do think the system is very very glitchy, which is really annoying. I’ve had issues with not being able to find our LL and needing to look in several different places in the app to find. They sometimes come up on the home screen and sometimes do not.
 
MEP is given based on the time they think the attraction will reopen.
If they expect to reopen soon during your return time it will not switch immediately to an MEP.
If they do not know when it will reopen the MEP will be given sooner, even before your return time starts.
