On phone so I'll be brief.

Beds at desert inn and suites are firm but not as awful as I expected. They seem to be some sort of foam. I'd say the room is comparable to super 8 but the location is awesome so we'd probably stay again. Bring a white noise machine. Period. You can hear everything. It's clean, pillows are fine.

No word on breakfast we just arrived this evening.

Pirates haunted mansion nd buzz were less than 5 min. Memo was 5 min at 6:30. Hoping the crowds stay this way!!!

You hit the best week of March. Keep your hind quarters dry. ;)

What was Star Tours like?

Stand by was 25 min last night

Pool looks fine. Indoors and kind of small but would be fine for kids.

Headed back in a few. Short hours today.

Thank you SO MUCH. I'm glad to hear you're enjoying your trip, I know how worried you were about the beds! Did you end up getting a topper?

Hmmm white noise machine. Maybe we'll have to spend some money and grab one. Luckily the kiddos sleep like logs. It's just me. Ear plugs maybe?

Just a quick fyi regarding white noise machines....I have an app on my phone called Sleepy Time Lite (lite is free) and I use that as my white noise machine. It has different sounds you can play (my favorites are the river and beach) and there are different time settings, from 10 minutes to 12 hours......definitely a great investment! lol :) I use it when I have problems sleeping in the hotel or at home, it's great. :)

My wife felt the volume from the iPhone was to low so she packed a small set of portable speakers and it worked well.

That sounds awesome! now I just need the iphone LOL

However, you guys made me realize that there's probably something I could buy on itunes and take my ipod with me. Yessss. This board rocks!

Just a note about the pool...

We've stayed at Desert Inn three times, and I like how cheap it is and how close to the park entrance it is.

My kids enjoy the pool, but the are always crying later because of the chlorine in the pool hurting their eyes. So, remember to bring some goggles, or buy some from the little shop!

I don't have an iPhone, I have a Droid. :) You can find the app on iTunes tho, and yes you can put it on your iPod. You don't need internet to use it. :)

We just got back from there. The location was great & the beds fine for us. The only issue we had was the internet was not good. We could not get the ipad to connect at all and the laptop was very slow. Overall, I would certainly stay there again. We had a spa suite and the bathtub was wonderful at the end of the day.

I have a 'dumb phone' LOL Totally behind the times ;)

I also have an old Ipod..without a touch screen hahaha so no apps for me :(

Is the pool overchlorinated?
As a pool owner myself, I find that I often have to correct some misconceptions about chlorine. Some folks think that if you can "smell it", then the chlorine level is too high. Actually, the opposite is true. When you notice that chlorine odor, it is from the formation of chloramines (when the Cl has bonded with waste material), and the only way to fix that is to shock the pool - or, add a large amount of chlorine to "burn-out" the chloramines.

Burning eyes can be from too much chlorine (but you won't smell it), but it is also caused by improper pH too.

No topper, we're ok. I did bring my own pillow though.

The walls are paper thin. I can hear regular volume talking from the other room. If you have a smartphone there are white noise apps that work well.
