Hi Disers,
We are here now. Great trip! I rented a car from Dollar. In the past, I filled up at Hess and returned the car. This time, they said that I had to fill up within 10 miles of MCO and show my receipt.

Can anyone point me to a gas station that fulfills the requirement.

(BTW, I didn't do a search. Am on a teeny OLD laptop that's super slow.)

Thanks everyone!

Take the Beachline (528) towards the airport. Get off the airport exit and head NORTH on Semoran. Go a little over a mile, there is a Wawa at the intersection of Lee Vista Blvd. with reasonably priced gas. It will be on the left. There is a light to make the turn. After you fill up turn back onto Semoran going towards the Beachline and stay on it, it will take you right to the airport. Just follow the signs to the rental return.

Circle K (Shell gas) south of the airport on Boggy Creek. Take the Boggy Creek exit (which is also the airport exit) off 417 and about a mile south is the station. Now that said, I never ever was asked for a receipt from Dollar even though the reservation said I had to have one. :car:

We stopped at the 7-11 on 528 and Tradeport. It is the exit just prior to the airport. When exiting the 7-11 I went north on Tradeport and then right on McCoy which is the frontage road that connects to Semoran. You also can skip the last toll on 528 by doing this.

Agree with this recommendation. Just a caution - DO NOT STOP at the two gas stations slightly closer to the airport - they charge outrageous prices that are something like $3/gallon above the going rate at the WaWa.

I would take 417 which is the quiet route to Disney. Get off at the Landstar Blvd exit. (Exit 14) It the last exit before the airport (airport is exit 17) there is a RaceTrak gas station less than a mile from the exit ramp. Get off the highway exit ramp and turn right heading south. The gas station is 8 miles from the airport. Here is a map for you

I would not advise going 528 it is so congested and a longer route to Disney. Plus you have to get on I-4 to get to Disney which can be a parking lot if you hit it during rush hour.

I will be going to the airport from Universal - which one of the above suggestions is best for that? Thx

I once had them tell me that and I gassed-up within 10 miles of the airport, but they never asked for the receipt. Never did it again.

BTW, I can't remember who told me or if it was in the paperwork. Who told you? If it was a person, you could always say no one told you about it.

I think we all appreciate a nice, full tank of gas when we GET a car. So why not follow their request?

We just rented from Dollar earlier this week and it was never mentioned that we had to fill up within 10 miles of the airport. We filled up at Hess by the Boardwalk and didn't have a problem getting to the airport still showing over full - and this was with a mid-size car that probably got about 25 MPG.

When I fill up, I keep filling for several times after the automatic stop, almost (but not quite) to the point of the gas overflowing. That way I ensure I'm still at "F" when I get to MCO.

Thank you to Betterbutter! I followed these directions and they were perfect.

As a followup, our receipt was not checked but the guy in front of us had his checked. :confused3

Like I said, we used to fill up at the Hess near the Swan and Dolphin. Now I'll use this WaWa.

Thanks so much to everyone. I really stressed about this--we had an early morning flight--and your help made it so easy!

Goobylal--It was both the person, the machine when I checked the car AND a big sign as we drove out of the lot. Hence my worry. :-) We did not have our receipt checked but the man in front of us was asked for his. So I'm REALLY glad we filled up where we did instead of at our usual location on property.

Interesting. I'm renting with them this coming April. When I'm at MCO, I'll use my "Gas Buddy" app to find the lowest price in the area and compare it with prices in Disney. If comparable, I'll just gas up there, and if not, gas up at Disney and add a little extra closer to the airport. Or find another agency.

If you don't show a gas station receipt as explained in the rental instructions, the rental company reserves the right to use an alternative calculation to figure out how much extra you would have to pay for refilling the car.
