This is my first post after a year of lurking while planning this trip. Its myself, my wife, and our 3 daughters ages 16, 3, and 5 mo.
So we had been to DHS and Epcot and went to the MK today. My 3 year old had been shy and reserved with the few characters she met, even Merida, Rapunzel (her favorite princess), and Snow White. I thought that was just how she was going to be until we left Rapunzel and Snow and went to Cinderella and Aurora. Long story short, whatever it was that Cinderella said to her, I think it was about my daughter's necklace, completely changed how she reacted. Between those two princesses they completely broke through my daughter's shyness and she was all smiles. You can even see the difference in the photo pass pictures. It was awesome.
So, if any CM's read this and are friends with the Cinderella and Aurora that were in fairy tale hall between 11 and noon today, please let them know this dad really appreciates what they did for his daughter..... Thank you!! :flower3:

You can actually email wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com
With the time/date/location/reason of your great CM experience and they'll send the message along to the princesses (plus their managers will see it too & know what a great job they're doing)

even though you do not have CM names let guest services know character and day, time and what happened. you can make 2 CMs day and you do not have to know which on because staff will know. it will go in their files

You could also send a picture and thank you letter to Disney. That way there would be no question.

Stories like this is why Disney World is special to countless families and also why I shake my head when I hear someone say they wait until their children are old enough to remember the trip to bring them. You will always have those memories and story to tell. To this day I still hold special the day Minnie who was going on break, come back to my 2 year old when he started to cry when she was leaving before he got to see her. We have a photo of him kissing her nose...that was 20 + years ago and still one of my fondest memories.

Love it!!! The magic is alive! It wasn't until we saw our first princess on DDs first trip that I finally saw a smile.

Welcome and how on earth did you manage to "lurk" for a year?? I came on in 2003 with the idea of just lurking and you see how that went..... lol....
I love your story about your shy DD. My kids were all shy too, so I can relate. I have many memories of my kids (now ages 13-24) in WDW and interacting with characters in their own shy ways. As I have, you will hold your precious memories throughout your life! :thumbsup2

I have a pic of my then 18mth kissing Mininie's nose and it was the most precious thing. That picture in itself was worth the price of the trip to us. Those memories are way I tell all my friends not to wait until their child can rememeber the trip!!
