After reading numerous posts complaining about various aspects of the parks if have to say that so far nearly everything is beating expectations. It helps that we are here off peak on a weekday but that was the plan.

A few other thoughts:

- California Adventure looks fantastic. Everything is in great condition. I noticed very few areas of worn paint or other cosmetic issues. We found that the rides are staying up (except for protein spills)
- Cast members are happy and helpful and generally in a pretty good mood.
- Security was breeze. Secondary screen took 10 seconds.
- Beignets in DTD are just as awesome as people say.
- Fire hydrant WOC viewing is as perfect as people say.
- GCH looks fine. Room is in good shape. We asked for a deep clean and it met expectations. I don't really see severe wear and tear except for a few spots if you look for them. It does feel dated but part of that is by design. A refurb will make this place shine.
- Vons delivery FTW
- WOC Celebrate isn't nearly as annoying as I thought it would be. Still like the original (2 years ago version) better.

Tomorrow we head for Disneyland so we will see if this continues. But none of my fears materialized on day one.

Ahhh.....but just wait....until
the 999 happy haunts welcome you with not so open arms, as they may materialize at any time....and unannounced at that....so just beware, if you should dare, to explore the mansion.

:scared:

:faint:

Lol

Glad you are having a great time. I will be curious to see how DL compares, hopefully not too much more crowded.

What is the fire hydrant WOC viewing? - I have not heard of this yet!

Top of blue section is a 10 foot stretch of rail that is next to VIP viewing. There is a green fire hydrant there. Great spot.

Well today was Disneyland. Much busier feel than yesterday at California Adventure. Though talking with cast members they said today was light. Must be totally insane when "busy".

Observations.

- the park looked great. A little more worn in a few places than California Adventure.
- the people running to fantasyland. I mean full on sprint. Peter Pan snot up to 45 minutes and pretty much stayed there all day. This was magic morning too!
- Tomorrow land and the endless Syar Wars music. Ok. We get it. You can stop now.
- Hyperspace Mountain is cool.
- Bobsleds still as bumpy. Yeti effect is cool.
- Everything was up for us. But we didn't get as much done because of longer lines than expected.
- The announcement that fireworks might be canceled due to high wind is way too cheerful.
- The announcement that fireworks is canceled due to high wind is more downbeat.
- the consolation show is very short and is definitely a low point in the day.
- Aladdins PTN package worked well. Plenty of space. But could have grabbed a curb in the same area without it though places filled in about 15 minutes before. Cast members mentioned that isn't as common to have empty space that late on busy nights. Can't speak for Main Street.
- Saw more than one set of parade performers have to be escorted to their spot. Seems like several people were late to the show.

We are here now too, also at DL today. We loved the Star Wars Launch Bay displays, and meeting Chewie and Kylo. We saw the LONG line outside before 10, and it was still there at 11:30. But at 11:30 there was a CM there, who told us that line was for the Jedi training sign ups (!?!) and that we could just enter the Launch Bay. Yay.

We did many of the big rides, but it seemed crowded in some spots, much less so in others. Fantasyland and Tommorowland pretty congested.

I like the Matterhorn and it does not feel uncomfortable to me. Space Mountain is awesome with the Star Wars music, we will have to ride that a few more times. Weather is perfect. At home, we are getting snow tomorrow. :D

Nice!.....
Cool about the snow...
Would you like to build a snowman? .......
Or woman? Or family? Angel? Nativity scene? Lol

And after a great morning with an empty park things are insane. This place really gets busy.

We have found the same for Friday's when we have been there - even when it's what you'd consider the 'off season'. As people get out of school and work they seem to all head to the parks!!

Could you please tell me more about this? How did you make the request and what extra cleaning do they do?

Last night was an absolute zoo. So glad we got everything out of the way earlier in the week.

All you need to do for a deep clean is call the hotel number and ask a cast member to add it to the reservation. I also called the day before to confirm. I was told they spend about two hours in the room and clean every surface. I couldn't find much of any dust. All bedding (comforters) is replaced and I believe sometimes the carpets shampooed. I'm not certain on the last part. I do know they shampoo the carpets in the hall because we came back one night and they had a dozen blowers set up in the hall and a cast member explained it is because they cleaned the carpets that night.

Also no fireworks again. They must have a low threshold for cancelling due to wind.

It might not seem windy at ground level but up high where the fireworks are it can be very. It is for safety reason they cancel as it is very much a residential area they are in.
I was actually checking the weather for Anaheim yesterday for fun and noticed a 'wind advisory' - pretty sure anytime that happens the fireworks are called off pretty fast!
