We have been to WDW 5 times since 2007. Were there new year 2007-8. Twice in Oct, once in Sept, now once in Feb. We do a time share exchanged (RCI) and have only stayed onsite once.

On this trip, we have waited in line as much this trip as the 2007 trip. We were FP super users, I guess. Always had one for something and rarely rode anything with a wait. We are unlikely to return any time in the near future. We felt frustrated, discouraged, and worn down. The new FP is not a good thing for us. Posted wait times are wrong all over the place - both too high and too low. MDE app has generally been working well for tracking that though. Lots of Brazilian tour groups around.

Yesterday was day 3 for us and our first to MK this trip - a Tuesday in Feb.

Here's the recap:
Park hours 9am-10pm
RD did not seem to have the same benefit as it did in the past. We used to be able to get there at RD and wrap up Fantasyland in about an hour. Granted, the expansion has increased the amount of time for this. But the ride wait times built up much more quickly and earlier than we’re used to. I felt hopeful after reading Josh's (EasyWDW) report, but our experience was nowhere as good.

Walked down main street at 9:01.

Went straight to meet Ariel and then ride. Posted at 20 min – was walk-on.

Went to Peter Pan about 9:40. Line was already 20-25 minutes.

Family went to ride Small World. I went to FP+ kiosk by Philharmagic. No wait here, really. They had a bunch of people there helping people and I waited behind maybe one person. There was already no availability for ETWB. Got SM for 1pm, TM for 3pm, PP for 4pm (first available).

Rode Winnie the Pooh – 20 minute wait. Posted wait time was right.

Rode Dumbo – 25 minute wait. Posted wait time was right.

Now about 11am.

Rode Teacups with 5 min wait.

Tomorrowland. Rode Buzz – about 15 minute wait. Posted wait time was right.

Peoplemover – no wait.

Carousel of Progress.

Laugh Floor – got in next show.

SM passes available. Rode twice with rider swap. Second time FP line was 15 minutes.

Skipped Stitch and Astro.

Headed over for Dole Whip around 2 pm.

Waits at pirates and jungle cruise in the 30-40 minute range. Didn’t ride.

Went through tree house.

FP for TM came up.

FP return line was REALLY long. Ride had been down earlier so people who missed their window were now riding.

Choose to get on train around park.

Returned to TM where line was now shorter. FP line took 15 min to ride.

Over to PP FP return time. Normal FP entry here – lickety split.

Went to Philharmagic – got into next show.

Rode HM – 10 min wait.

Wanted to ride Pirates/JC but Pirates was down, JC was 30 minute wait.

Went to Tiki Room. (Took a nap ;).)

Watched 6:30pm Dream Along with Mickey.

Stayed for fireworks spot. Family went to ride Pirates with minimal wait.

Watched light show, it broke after 5 minutes. Wifi also went down around the same time. Watched fireworks.

Back to Tomorrowland to ride SM with rider swap. Went twice.

Went to ETWB around 9:30pm. NO wait. Posted wait was 20 minutes. Both of my girls got to be in the show and got pictures with Belle. When I was making my FP reservations in the morning, I asked the FP guy about waits for late shows with Belle. He made it sound like even late at night, the wait would be long. He advised that I go right then (around 9:45am) and wait in the line which I had already seen to be outside the cottage and winding around a bit. In this case, he was way wrong. After the fireworks turned out to be perfect timing for us.

Big kids and dh went to ride TM - went 3 times before park closed.

When walking back to front of park around 9:35, wait for meeting Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty posted at 10min. I would have gone, but kids were sleeping in stroller. Rapunzel and ? showed 35 minutes.

9:45 version of light show also didn't happen.

We intend to go back on Friday - the last day of our trip. I think we will have much lower expectations for that day which should make things better. Unfortunate that we have to expect less to be happy.

I'm happy to answer anything I can. We've also been to Epcot and DHS so far.

Sounds like by the next time you go, you'll be able to advance book FP as an offsite guest. It sounds like a pretty full day to me, but I am not a frequent visitor and on my last trip didn't expect to see things more than once or to fit everything in.

All in all, it sounds as if you had what Disney would consider is a "new normal" day. Some 10-15 minute SBs. Some walk-ons or next shows. 3 FPs for popular rides. And two or three 30 minute waits. I don't think anyone at HQ is worried about trying to design a system that will help you do better, though things might improve in April when off site guests can pre-book FP+ . We will be there over President's Day weekend as off site guests (Dolphin) and we are expecting a much worse scenario than yours. I'd take your itinerary ten times out of ten if I could.

If this is as "bad" as it gets during busy times, I'll breathe easier about our trip over Columbus Day weekend, during both Food&Wine and MNSSHP. However, you were there during a "slow" period, which makes me anxious for vacation weeks, long weekends, special events during these times, etc.

Wait, you got FP+ for both SM & TM? I thought they were limiting you to one E-ticket (headliner/mountain) FP per day?

No tiers at MK.

This actually doesn't sound all that bad to me. Was it a busy day at the park? I'm concerned about those really busy periods.

Um, I just counted a total of 23 rides/attractions (counting your double rides twice). I'd hardly call that a horrible day at MK.

Yeah, I'm not getting it either. Your highest waits were 30 mins, with most being 15 or less. That's significantly lower than a lot of times of the year and would not give me the slightest pause. Sounds like a good day to me as well.

You did a lot in one day, with kids. We could hardly do all those in one day. I know it is supposed to be low time now, but 30 minutes wait are not bad at all, comparing to the more crowded days.

I would be more than happy if I could do that much at MK.

I agree that the Rope Drop edge has been decreasing, but overall it still sound good.

I agree. The longest posted wait was 40 minutes but you did not get in line so who knows what the real wait was. We only can go when we are back in Florida to visit family around Christmas. Two years ago we were able to do one day at MK in February and those times are about what I saw.

BTW.....Disney's posted wait times are notouriously wrong. This is not a product of FP+. Its been like that forever.

I'm wondering if the FP+ kiosks in the park don't have the same functionality as the MDE website and app have?

I just checked for today, and I can get FP+ for both Peter and Pan and Enchanted Tales with Belle as early as 11:35 (it's 11:23 now). After selecting one of Option A, B, C, or D, I can then go in and change the time of any specific attraction, and both PP and ETwB have a number of available time slots today.

If you don't mind spending some time at the FP+ kiosk to fool around with this, might we worth checking out during the remainder of your trip.

Also, are you doing any park-hopping? If so, have you tried to use a FP+ kiosk in the second park of the day? (Still looking for confirmation that this doesn't work for offsite guests.)

Example of how you just can't make everyone happy, no matter what you do. If this did not meet the OP's expectations, she has the right to be upset - but her details show me that I am not nearly as demanding as the OP. I would be more than happy with this day in MK.

Different strokes...

Honestly, I don't see what you are complaining about. Those wait times are quite low. And had you done Fantasyland a bit different you would likely have had lower waits. If you hit Peter Pan and Winnie the Pooh first you find much shorter wait times. Bummer about ETWB FP+ being not available though. I'd be happy if my MK day had wait times like you experienced. FP is not meant to be an immediate boarding but rather reduced wait times. So to have to wait 10 min in a FP line is reasonable.

OK, you guys are making me feel like a whiner :rotfl:. Sorry! I guess compared to other experiences, this may sound positive. But, for us, it was frustrating.

I was thinking about off-season waits when seeing this too. If it's already 25 minutes to ride Dumbo and Winnie the Pooh at 10:00 am on a Tuesday in February, what will you see in June? We just never worried about stuff like this before and just got a FP and rode with no wait later. Or, like I said, knocked it all out at rope drop.

We aren't park hopping - we never have.

At all three parks, I haven't been able to use the FP kiosk by myself. I've had a CM do it each time. I would have liked to play around with it myself and see what I could find, but didn't have that chance.

I agree. Sounded like a pretty good day.
We will also be there presidents week staying offsite. We are APs and hoping by April to have MB and book in advance. I am a little worried!
