Here now and new system is pretty slick!

Bought myself a battery backup for my iphone for our Oct trip last year just for this reason. Worked like a charm. Allowed me two full charges which was more than I needed to cover me for the day. Didn't have to worry about finding a plug. Was totally worth the $30 I spent on it.

I have the mophie juicepack and had no problems.

I'll admit, if you lower your expectations a little bit then the new system is fine.

We felt the same way when we tried it for the first time over Thanksgiving weekend! I was extremely weary prior to our trip because of all of the negative posts and I'm generally not the best with change (I admit it!), but we ended up really loving it! I found it to be sooo much more convenient and we had zero issues. We go back in 8 days and I am hoping to have the same great experience

Good to hear that arriving at RD is still a viable strategy with FP+. I am hopeful FP+ will enhance my experience instead of detract from it. Seems the key is making the right selections up front...whatever they may be.

Today was our first day using Magic Bands and FP+ and so far I am a pretty big fan. Hit Magic Kingdom at rope drop and had our favorites finished by noon with little to no waits and then headed to Hollywood Studios and used our FP for Toy Story Mania and Tower of Terror. Did the Fantasmic Dinner so had wonderful seats and no stress! Everything has worked wonderfully. It's so nice to not have to go to the old fast pass kiosks and then return again later. No paper tickets to keep track of and no digging park tickets out of bags. I just love it all!

I felt that way in December too...I wanted to hate it but I loved it! But it's hard to say that you love Fast Pass Plus on here because then people think you "Drank the koolade" or "always defend Disney" lol.

Now all you have to worry about is losing those little smart phones.

no way is that going to happen....phone is with me 24/7

And keeping them charged.

Have a portable battery charger...cheap and a no brainer.

And having a signal for the wifi.

I never use public wifi that's how you get hacked...3 or 4G from my phone works just fine.

I haven't lowered my expectations...just found out that we have just as nice a trip with Fast Pass Plus that we did running around collecting FP's that sometimes we didn't even use.

Ok tonight was a perfect example of how well this can work, at 6:37pm we decided to change things up and made a FP+ time for Space Mountain at 7:10. The old system would never have allowed for that. Tomorrow's plans changed a little and while we sat and waited for Main Street Electrical Parade we made all new FP+ selections for HS tomorrow and even plan to sleep in a little. I love this system! We were talking today about how with the old system we would have to run for the popular rides to pull a fast pass only to have to come back again later, if we were even lucky enough to get a time that worked with our plan. No thanks!!

That's funny, we didn't experience that at all. I suppose nothing is perfect and there will be glitches just like when the old fast pass machines went down quite often...still slick in my eyes. Way more pros than cons.
