Can I just say.. I don't think any side of the argument is "logical". It's all opinionated. If you like the new system you'll say why you like it and to you it makes sense. If you don't like it for various reasons those reasons make sense to you. If you are 100% for it. Well everyone else's view is flawed. If you are that much against it well... you get where I am going.

You can't make someone else love something just because you do and the opposite is true as well.

I'm one where I like the new system but I didn't use the old one. If I did use the old one I'd probably hate the new system. How's that for logic

At this point I'm only defending the personal attacks.

And IT major doesn't mean you can quote properly unless your can text code HTML.
it's just a I can hand code XML too if I have to. That's why I love the new system. It's technology that I can see the future potentials. I look way past the FP+ but at the possibilities.

The one I have to use at work is garbage, so I'm not sure that helps your case.

I am not stupid about crowds as we almost always have to travel during holidays and summers. We have done trips during Christmas week. You just can't shrug this off as it being busy, but there is a change coming and it will effect you. Also busy times are busy because that's when most people go.

Here's what is most concerning, once the old system goes away you will get 3 choices (even if it's 4 choices in the end), rest of the time it's standby. I see where we used FP-all the time for the lesser attractions and even rode some of the major rides a couple of times in a day. That is going away.

And during busy times you can't just change your times because those times won't be available. You are locked in and honestly that is a PITA. Old system you pulled as you needed. Now you do as Disney wants.

They are taking away tangible benefits from the guests. They are transforming the vacation by lowering what you can expect to get.

I saw long lines to get into the FP line, and yes showing tickets us way faster than scanning the band. Those FP lines will only get worse. I observed a lot of CM just finally letting people through when the Mickey wouldn't turn green. You can literally feel the frustration in the air and it's effecting the CMs.

We are DVC owners and we will need to think long and hard about keeping our shares because this is a huge cut in what we had come to expect at WDW.

This was the original post, it does a good job explaining how the experience will change for a lot of people.

The reason this conversation has gone on now consistently for 18 months - is because we all have to decide how to use our vacation time in the next 12 months. We have to project and predict what it will look like.

We can't wait "to see what the final product is" or hope that it turns out ok.

As for Trusting Disney... I can't do that, they have said over and over again these changes are designed for the accountants not the guests.

I completely understand that it is going to work out for those planners who don't ride many rides. Those that fish, like to wander through the parks, golf, etc. it will be good for that group. (Non-planners who like to do those things will most likely be shut out - if this turns out as successful as Disney hopes).

But for me, my travel groups, and my teenagers we have a lot to think about. Will the cuts in our ride opportunity (and yes my teens do like riding ToT multiple times a day) combined with ticket price increases be a smart use of our money?

Combine that with the shorter evening EMH and the credit card guarantee for all restaurants ( even restaurant Marrakesh?) and I am not sure it is going to work.

The FP+ conversations have to continue! we have to keep projecting.

I visited twice in 2014 during this "test", I didn't like it. I will keep watching. I am punting 2014 (I'm going to Toronto, Montreal, Vermont, Newport, NYC instead!) but my DVC points will be fully stocked in July 2014, and I will have to decide how to budget them.

So I have about 7 months to watch, learn, and guess. I appreciate all the different perspectives and on the scene stories.

But there are valid/invalid opinions and logic.

Its valid for someone to say something like, The new system limits me to 3 FPs a day, BUT, I like that it allows me to book them in advance, so on balance, I enjoy the new system more.

Totally cool.

Its invalid to argue: When we used the system (when testing with 5 or 10 or 20% of guests) I was able to book same day FPs for whatever I wanted, and able to switch on the fly instantly to what I wanted. Therefore this new system rocks.

There is just no logic to that argument. Its valid to your experience, but its not a valid comment on how the system will work.

I am the one starting arguments? So okay you don't hate the FP+ you dislike them. That's fine with me. I don't mind adjustment and maybe they will adjust to the way that you may like it. I don't know what the product will be at the end can you agree that all you can do is voice your opinion and wait for the result?

I think FP+ can be a cool thing in off peak season. It is an indicator of how good it could be all the time (all seasons) for Disney IF 1. The technology worked better (it may someday) 2. The ride capacity ratio was equal in the peak season as the non peak.

But of course that #2 issue is a huge problem and can't be fixed for at least 6 years at best. If ever.

It is peak season this week, more than 50% of the guests are showing up with no access to FP+, headliner fastpasses gone early in the morning, and no chance at all of grabbing a FP for things that are FP+ only (ETWB, haunted mansion, etc). Is Peter Pan FP+ only now? That would really frustrate me, if I had no opportunity to use FP on my trip.

So I would keep in mind that good FP+ experiences right now are coming at the expense of a lot of guests who spent thousands of dollars for a magical trip and are severely disappointed.

I dislike the whole double/triple dipping. I think they should just roll the system out in phases. It's just typical of tech roll outs. I go through this everyday, and just because of that I defend the system more. It is the same exact thing at my job. I toll system out to countless number of company and most of the users are exhibiting similar anxiety. The ones that calls us names to the ones like you who wish to point out the flaws. I welcome the opinion of the latter kind and you know what I do for the first.

And I've been coding HTML since I was 12. I can code XML and JAVA and just about anything. I programmed my first GUI with no help from anyone. I've been able to code MS DOS since I was about 8. Trust me I have coding down. But multi quoting (and I won't sit here and copy and paste on an iPhone) is something I can't do nor really want too. So get off your high horse. My IQ is high enough that I feel secure in my intelligence. I don't need to lift myself above others to make myself feel good.

The whole "debate" is a simple one. Most people want their families to have the best possible experience at Disney. The reason many people are wary of FP+ is that it will negatively impact how our past experiences have been executed.

Disney is moving to this new model because they have been convinced that it will allow the company to make more money. That should be a fairly obvious point whether you think that FP+ is a positive or a negative.

The whole testing argument is a red herring. This is going to change touring at Disney. At slow times, the impact will be less.

Nothing I have said in this post has not been said by people much brighter than me.

The arrival of a flippant poster to these forums makes nothing that people are seeing take place with their own eyes and ears (we all know the laundry list--everything from a website that loses all of folks information to people having their best experience ever at Disney due to FP+) any different.

We have a DVC trip to Saratoga upcoming in about 3 weeks just prior to Christmas. The trip has been planned for quite awhile (mainly due to the rules of borrowing / advance planning required by DVC) or we would have cancelled this trip and went to Universal instead. I plan to report back to these boards the good and the bad of our experiences.

At this point, that is all that I can do.

If I come off trying to push my love for the system then I apologize. I already said repeatedly I do not wish to do so. All I wanted to do is to say I love the system. I only responded nasty to the ones that insulted me before. Not you. I wasn't trying to say that you don't know how to multi-quote. I was responding to the multiple things at once. Why can't a new user know how to multi-quote? Why is that bad?

So what did you code in MS-DOS? I haven't find that many people who do anymore? You still know how to allocate memory as DOS starts?
