..and that is, that as a party of only two (myself and young child), we MUST be invisible. BecaUse surely there can be no other reason that everywhere we go, people so casually just cut right in front of us. We have been cut in attraction lines, food lines, even the restroom. We stand there waiting our turn only to have someone (or a group of someones) just step right in front of us as if we aren't even there.
Sure we have dealt with cutters before but this has just been bizarre....I am thinking of getting us both brightly colored outfits, or lining our clothing with lights at night. What the hell is wrong with people, really? I am starting to feel like Milton from office space....if one more person cuts in front of me, I'm going to blow up the building.

You need to speak up!!! Not rudely, just speak up. Some people are being rude others just may not have noticed and it could be an innocent cut. But just speak up and give your daughter a great example of how to stand up for herself in a positive way. If someone ignores you further or gives you lip back just back off and let your DD know its not worth the fight. I have done this and I have never had a negative outcome, most people are just being rude are either just stunned you called them out and/or to worried that since you had the guts to call them out that you won't back down if they say something.

Good luck - but don't let rude people make you think negatively about the good time with your DD.

Good advice from the PP. You should say something - it could be a great teaching moment too!

I politely ask, "Are you always this rude or is today a special occasion?"

I've had people actually walk right into me. I think, I must have put on my invisibility cloak today and didn't realize it. Sorry, I hope things improve for you.

:)

Yes, I would speak up. Never be rude, because that is teaching your child to be rude too. Just say, " Excuse me. I was in line already. The end of the line is over there." If there is a problem then you might have to get a little nasty. I just don't get why people have to bully others over cutting in lines too these days. Ugh! Where are manners?

It can be hard to when seems evryone is walking over you. That said your reference to blowing up a building in these days can bring you unwanted attention and also the Dis.I did not give you a warning or infraction because I know it was a expression of your frustration and not real threat. Please to all Disers reading this you know that sentence spoken in a airport, mall or other public place now days could cause you a problem. Thanks Danny

My daughter and I have had the exact same experiece this week. Apparently those traveling in giant packs feel they have some sort of VIP priviledges this week. It has been an odd week for crowds in general. Lots of people but nobody really riding any rides. Lots of people milling about but not really going anywhere.

Oh wow, seriously? I was just making a joke out of a quote from a pretty famous (or infamous) movie character. Geez has the world gotten that bad....

While many people are just plain rude, others are just not very observant. When I am standing in line for anything, rides, characters, mickey ice-creams etc. I throw out my desire for personal space and make sure that I stand close enough to the person ahead of me (not breathing down their neck) so it is quite obvious that I am there and it isn't an empty spot. While the meek may inherit the earth - it won't get you the World. Here's to speaking up for yourself. If you don't, you will fume and be miserable and they will have no clue. Good Luck and don't even think about touching my stapler!

Yes. Unfortunately, it has.

But definitely speak up! At least you'll feel more empowered and visible than you do now, regardless of the reaction of the rude dudes.

That's hilarious because we just got back yesterday too and we said the exact same thing. Everywhere we went people were cutting in front of us constantly. It wasn't even busy! It really was odd! lol
