from WESH:
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Marvel Studios and Walt Disney World are pairing up to promote the new movie "The Avengers."
The Walt Disney World Resort will debut "The Avengers"-themed monorail this spring.
The movie that opens May 4 is about super heroes who team up to pull the world back from the brink of disaster when an enemy threatens global security.
The monorail will be wrapped similar to the "Tron"-themed monorail that ran at the Magic Kingdom a few years ago.

Looks kinda cool... and should be there for our trip, will give us something extra to add to our list! All the silly little things that keep us entertained:woohoo:

Once was ok, but if they do this every year or 2 its going to get old very quickly.

Love the skins on the monorails, I think it's a great way to keep the aging fleet exciting.

This. If it was for rides and attractions dealing with allotted parks such as Mk (ex. A new fantasyland skin) id handle it a tad better. But random movie advertisements is corny imo.

I like the wraps. Mixes things up. As long as they are tasteful. I liked the Tronorail betten than Avergerail, but it's still cool. Better suited to Epcot loop than MK loop, though.

I think the monos look fantastic wrapped and that they should wrap them all in solid colors instead of just stripes. Walt was always pushing forward, why keep them the same color scheme as they were for thirty years? Push the envelop like Walt wanted.

Apparently they can't run the Avengers wrapped monorail through Epcot because that would violate the terms of the contract with Universal. So it runs on the resort line.

So while it would probably make more sense on the Epcot line, there's a good reason it's not.

So you don't mind if soon they do something along the lines of Hanna Montana/High School Musical/whatever new teen pop fad comes out?

Disney isn't stupid. They made a wrap for Tron, which was well suited to the Epcot loop and did ok as a movie and has a Disney tradition. The Avengers will clear $500mil or more. It isn't like they're making a wrap for every direct-to-DVD Farie movie that comes out.

Disney isn't stupid.

I'm not so sure. I was a contractor at Disney and frequently worked in MK while the High School Musical stage was set up in the middle of TOMORROWLAND for over a year. It made absolutely NO sense for it to be there, yet there it was.

The new wrap is looking good. I would be kinda funny to see a Lady and The Tramp wrap for the Blu-ray release; where Lady would be on one end and tramp on the other with that pasta noodle they eat running the length of the train.

Disney has to change things up a bit. For those of us who live in FL and frequent the park (AP) it keeps things fresh. Can't please everyone but if not your cup of tea don't look and move onto something you prefer.;)

I agree the skins are cool, but wish they had a bit more of a disney feel.
