October 26-31, 2005
Flying in from Milwaukee, WI

Pop Century $618.80 (5 nights)

Air Fare $500.00

Food $550.00

Transfer $100.00

Spending $400.00

Tickets (5 day hopper plus) $556.00

Tips (5 nights) $10.00

Hoop De Doo $100.00

Total: $2,834.80

If they came out with another 7 for 5 deal and it works out better for us. I would add 2 more days on.

Once I buy the air tickets though I am set in stone.

They currently have a 7 for 5 deal, you could look into it. What are the tips for??? I'm assuming housekeeping as it looks like you planned $1 per person per night. I think the budget looks good, and it has "wiggle" room as I think you may get away w/ alittle less on a few things.

Air Fare $500.00 (just looked and found 179 each..but it is for this year and a week earlier --but I would move up a week if needed)

Food $550.00 (I am not sure here. I think if DS and I split some meals -- he wants to go to Coral Reef and I know I would only do appetizers there for me)

Transfer $100.00 (not sure if I want to do Mears or a car)

Spending $400.00

Tickets (5 day hopper plus) $556.00

Tips (5 nights) $10.00 (yes this is for Mousekeeping)

Note: you do realize that it is Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween time...so I think the accomodations might be a little hard . If you have flexibility I would go a week before or after if possible. The week after puts you into the Value season also, and has also been an historical ap discount week as well.

I use the ITA software to check the prices for airfare, but are there any discount flyers? eg Song, Airtran etc.
Also do you have any Frequent flyer or other cards to help supplement.
Hope you have a great time::MinnieMo

I checked Ita with the next day.
$391.00 Nonstop on NW for Nov1-6 for 2
and PC would be $331. for Nov 1-6.

The current "7 for 5" offer is for stays beginning 7/5/04 to 11/18/04 and must be booked by 6/30/04.

For one adult and one junior at PoPC, 7 nights, UPHs for all 7 nights, the cost (including taxes) would be $1181.37. That's only $6.50 more than you currently have budgeted for 6 nights with 5-day PHPs. The discount code for the package is ZXDB and it's available to the general public.

This would be a much better deal than buying your room and passes separately. You'll actually get 8 days/7nights to play for the price you would have spent for 6 nights. You would also get admission to DQ with this, which I highly recommend for any 14yo boy.

This would increase you food budget, tips and any airport parking fees by one extra night, so plan accordingly if you decide to do it! Don't count on there being any room-only codes for that time period. Last year there were none for the general public. And there's no guarantee that the AP discount will be worth the extra cost to you if you're only staying 5 days in a Value Resort.

Just saw the dates in Nov. on the 7 for 5 and would agree with mad4themouse. A bird in the hand.... It looks like there is good airfare for Nov 1st. Good luck.

Are you going in Oct of 2004 or 2005?
Your original post date is Oct 2005.

You could purchase the 5 day hoppers from the Hotwire Savings Club (do the trial period only) for about $496.00. That's another $60.00 savings right there. Also, it seems as though your food budget is quite high! Can you do some trimming there? That amount along with the hoop dee do revue is very high in my opinion! Also, your amount for "extras" is overly generous!!!(All in my opinion!!) I think you can get this down a good $600.00. Best of luck with this dream trip with your wonderful son!!

I already have a room reserved. I am thinking of going a week earlier now. Since I may be able to rent some DVC points an stay at the Cornado Resort instead.

I am going Oct 2005

I am a DVC member and just looked up the points needed to stay at the Coronado Resort. You would need to rent 17 points for each weekday, and 31 points for each weekend day. These points typically go for $10.00 a point. This would be VERY expensive, and actually would cost more than booking the room on your own and paying rack rates. If I was in your situation, this is what I would do:
1) Is there anyway you could travel from Sunday to Friday? If so, you could rent points from a DVC member, stay at Old Key West (which would be a significant upgrade in accomodations) for 5 nignts. The total points needed would be 40, which should go for about $400.00. (No tax also!!)
2) Along with ordering your park hoppers from Hotwire, how about getting some Q and C vouchers? (Don't do this too soon ,as current ones expire in May of 2005.) You could have some nice meals at Beaches and Cream (just take the boat from Epcot to the Yacht and Beach Club) and have some great meals for $22.00 per meal. (They are 11.50 per voucher!) This would really cut down on your food costs.
3) Also, if you stay at Old Key West, your room will have a microwave and small refrigerator. How about all your breakfasts in the room, along with a simple lunch for a day or two?

I think with some really careful planning, you could bring this budget down to around $2000.00 or so and feel like you are really splurging !! Best of luck!!
