yep and the parents should go deep in debt for a car so the kid can have his own personal entertainment center in his own little world

OMG! I just had this conversation with my mom. I think this is the WORST marketing in the world!! Why do I care what my bratty kid thinks about the car I drive?? Is HE paying for it?? I wanted to call the company and tell them what an adult BUYER thinks of these commercials!!
(plus, somebody cut that kids hair!!!)

Well, we all have different opinions. I think the commercial is funny. I don't think anyone really thinks a kid should behave that way. And, I think his hair is cute.![]()

I completely agree. This is my most hated commercial on tv right now. That kid makes me sooooo irritated. Who cares what this bratty kid wants? PLUS when we were kids if our parents were singing we'd sing along. That's where we got our love of music. Now kids are plopped in the backseat with headphones and a tv and there is no family interaction at all. Every single thing about this line of commercials ticks me off!
Somehow,I doubt that's what the advertisers had planned....and since 8 year olds don't buy cars,I wonder who they think will spend on this car after thinking those thoughts?
Or to the grocery store?
And I don't understand the "entertainment" system in cars. If you travel a lot (road trips to Gramma's or something like that) I could see having it- BUT if you don't- does your kid really need to watch SpongeBob on the way to school?Or to the grocery store?

The problem isn't with the commercials it is with the people who buy the cars with the entertainment systems in them (if you are opposed to them of course). If the consumer didn't demand them as an option the car companies wouldn't be touting them as a feature.
The commercials themselves are just attempts at humor and people take them way too seriously. Besides, a commercial is supposed to make an impression, good or bad, and it appears they have. In the end if you allow a commercial to determine the car you buy as opposed to the features and how they stack up against the competition you aren't a very smart consumer IMO.
It's an annoying commercial- but I'm not taking it "seriously".
It hasn't made much of an impression on me.... I don't know what kind of car it is.

that kid that is the toyata highlander commerical. it make me feel like the kid should make the choice in the house... and so what if i embrass you, that means i doing my job..
LOL! Ditto. I don't even know what they're selling. All I know is that it's annoying. I'm not car shopping, I just don't like annoying commercials, and that's my perogative!![]()
