here is another commerical that bothers me

Apparently it's a Toyota.... :rotfl:

Ahhhh see, now I wouldn't buy a Toyota anyway, so there we go. They can't earn me as customer, or lose me. So I am free to hate the commercial for the sheer sake of hating it! :lmao:

The one (two actually) that you are describing do not bother me...I find them humorous. The one I did find offensive was the one where the kid is chased home by bullies. It implies that having that car will save your kid from bullying and the mere idea that he is in the car will stop all future harassment.

It is a bad and sensitive subject to make light of, in my opinion. Now the other ones only enforce my opinion that parents are there to humiliate their children and get them used to and toughened up to the fact that not everything is perfect. It is priceless.

I never thought they were bullies, I just thought they were friends racing each other. :confused3

They didn't seem mean or anything. In fact I think one of them says something like, "I bet i can beat you there, or wanna race" or something to that effect. Then the one kid outsmarts them and jumps in the van in order to beat them to their final destination.

That's what I thought too- but I still dont' know what kind of car they're selling! :lmao:

Personally fed up with the promotion of entitlement.
I would like to see kids grateful to have A car, not a "cool" car.

OMG! I just had this conversation with my mom. I think this is the WORST marketing in the world!! Why do I care what my bratty kid thinks about the car I drive?? Is HE paying for it?? I wanted to call the company and tell them what an adult BUYER thinks of these commercials!!

(plus, somebody cut that kids hair!!!)

:lmao: Oh my gosh the hair drives me CRAZY!

Beautifully put. :thumbsup2 I agree.

The problem isn't with the commercials it is with the people who buy the cars with the entertainment systems in them (if you are opposed to them of course). If the consumer didn't demand them as an option the car companies wouldn't be touting them as a feature.

The commercials themselves are just attempts at humor and people take them way too seriously. Besides, a commercial is supposed to make an impression, good or bad, and it appears they have. In the end if you allow a commercial to determine the car you buy as opposed to the features and how they stack up against the competition you aren't a very smart consumer IMO.

If it leaves an impression and the product is not remembered, it is an UNsuccessful commercial.

And yes, a BAD comml could make someone not want to buy an item. Maybe not YOU of course, but not everyone is you.

Cannot stand that commercial. Completely perpetuates the notion to kids that they should look down on other kids because of the car their family drives. Great message to perpetuate among kids today.

This is exactly why I love my dvr ... seriously when DISer's come on here and post about annoying commercials ... I can honestly say I have no clue what they are talking about because
I ff through all of them. :thumbsup2

DH & I won't even watch a show until it is completely taped ... plus, by the time you get down ff-ing through a 30 minute show, you actually have more time to watch tv because you can get through a 30 minute show in like 20 minutes, maybe even less. :yay:

To those posting the links, thanks. That diaper one is hysterical, I will say. The Highlander one is lame.

We have DVR too and we DVR our night time shows, but when I am home cleaning suring the afternoons and have the tv on in the background, I don't have shows recorded. I just flip around, and therefore have to see commercials.

I hated the old bounty commercial, when the kid explodes orange soda all over the kitchen, and his mom thinks it's funny, and starts squirting him with the faucet - yeah, right, normal reaction.

And the new one, with dad and son tossing bowls full of salsa back and forth over the counter, mom laughing, and smiling when it spills, and goes and gets a paper towel, to clean it up herself. I would be giving DH a *** look if I caught him fooling around lkke that, in my sparkling clean kitchen!

Oh the soda commercial... sorry, no papertowel is going to clean up that sticky mess!

I remember being embarrassed by my parents fake wood station wagon.

How embarrassing.

With that said, I didn't pay for it, and neither will my kids... And no, I will not drop you off around the block. Neither did my mom! ;)

:rotfl2: my DH hates that soda commercial too....:rotfl2: we have DVR,but when watching news,or something random,we see some of these. the toyota commercial,we saw once, the other night, and completely are horrified!

Totally unrealistic commercials. The people who do these must think we are stupid. No one I know would have that joyful reaction to such a mess. :thumbsup2
