We are arriving on a Saturday at about 12:30 p.m. and leaving the following Saturday about 1:30 p.m. and my question is I know that we only have 7 days in the parks which is fine, but for the food do we get 8 days of food? I'm really confused about this on the day we arrive I'm thinking of doing quick counter service at YC and then heading over to the park and we would like to do a sit down dinner that first night, but that last day we are there on Saturday, yes if we get the food on that day we would do an early sit down breakfast and then probably do a counter service for lunch the Yacht Club Galley at noon, grab that snack so everyone is full and has a snack on the plane, if this is how it works, but I'm really not sure. Thanks for any help you can give. :earseek:

The dining is tied to how many nights you are staying not days. I'm staying from Sat-Sat and I get 7 per person.

I've been a bit confused about this also. We are there for 8 days and 7 nights as well. I called back to give our flight information and asked about that...I was told "yes, you have a meal on your last day there". So now I remain confused. Not that it really matters that much, we've already used 2 of our sit downs for the Hoop De Doo so I know we'll end up buy more meals but I was just curious. Has anyone out there actually used the dining package and know for sure? :confused3

It is according to the number of nights you are staying. If you're staying 7 nights... you receive 7 snack credits, 7 counter service credits and 7 sit down meal credits.

Keep in mind... that alot of the counter service meals can be large enough (especially when you add in the dessert!) to share between two people... so you may have enough credits to have a counter service breakfast or lunch on your last day.

Also.. if you have kids in your party.. you may want to opt to pay out of pocket for a few of the less expensive sit down meals and add an extra sit down meal to your itinerary etc.

Try to think of the MYW dining in terms of credits instead of days. And rather than 7 per person... think of it in terms of your whole party... if there are 2 people... you have 14 credits (of each option) for your trip.

Then you can think of meals costing you credits rather than $$. For example... if there are two of you.. and you're splitting a meal at Flame Tree for lunch... it would only cost you 1 counter service credit.

Hope that helps... instead of making things more confusing! ;)

I understand your confusion. I had the same thing happen to me. CM told me that the dining options were PER DAY. I asked "per day?" and he said, "Yes, one of each per day". The others are correct though. I do hope the next time disney decides to change things, they give those poor CM's a little heads up before they put them on the phones to answer questions.

Every report I've read so far has said that the credits are yours to use any way you want. So if you want to eat two sitdowns the first day, then no sit downs for three days, then sitdowns every day after that, you can. When you check-in you get your credits for the week and you eat whenever you want. For example, our family of 4 for 7 nights will have 28 sitdowns, 28 counter service, and 28 snacks. We can eat 10 snacks the first day if we want, we can stockpile sitdowns and use them for later in the week, etc.

Credits in the past have always been based on the number of nights stayed.
I don't see that changing.

Im still a little consused!! :confused3 We are arriving June 24 and leaving July 1. so, that is 7 nights. This means we have credits for the night we arrive and until June 30?! or do we get credits for the day we leave(July 1). If we dont get credits for July 1 and we have extra credits can we use them on July 1 or have they "Expired"? :confused3

We used the MYW dining on our February trip.

On the day you check in your Key to the World card (which will have MYW Dining printed on it) will have ALL of your dining credits on your card.

Your credits will be based on the number of nights you are staying, not days you are there.

Your credits are available to use as soon as you're checked in... as soon as your card is in your hand.

So... if you are a family of 4 staying for 7 nights... upon check in, your Key to the World card will have 28 snack credits, 28 counter service credits and 28 sit down credits.

So, you really are free to make your meal plans however you'd like. If you have a sit down meal for breakfast, lunch and dinner all on one day... you can. It's not like you are given a new grouping of MYW dining credits each day... they're all there from the moment you check in.

Just a note... if you are ever in doubt of how many credits you have remaining... just check with guest services at your resort. :)

As for using any remaining credits on your check out day... they are still good! We had counter service lunch on our check out day... and had more credits left... so we bought some counter service "to go" lunches to take on the plane for the trip home. ;)

Here's how I figured our credits out- we arrive Saturday afternoon for 6 nights and leave Friday afternoon. We are a family of 2 adults and 1 child.

Arrival Day- check in, receive Room Key cards with 18 snack (S) credits, 18 counter svc (CS) credits, and 18 table svc (TS) credits. We use 3 TS credits for dinner.

Day 2- we eat b'fast in room. Lunch- 3 CS credits. Afternoon snack- 3 S credits. Dinner- 3 TS credits.

Day 3- We share 1 CS credit for b'fast. Lunch- We share 2 CS credits. Snack- 3 S credits. Dinner- 3 TS credits.

Day 4- We use 3 TS credits for a late character b'fast. Afternoon- 3 S credits. Dinner- 3 CS credits.

Day 5- We eat b'fast in room. Lunch- 3 CS credits. Snack- 3 S credits. Cinner- 3TS credits.

Day 6- We share 1 CS credit for b'fast. Lunch- we share 2 CS credits. Snack- 3 S credits. Dinner- 3 TS credits.

Departure day- We eat b'fast in room. Morning snack in parks- 3 S credits. We use our last 3 CS credits for a "to-go" lunch that we bring with us for the drive home. The credits expire at midnight on the day of check out.

Total credits used- 18 TS, 18 CS, and 18 S, spread over seven days.

Hope that helps! :wizard:

I think everything on your MYW plan is good for 14 days from the first day of use--tickets, extra options, and MYW dining meals. This is how I understood it. :cool1:

The meals are only good during your length of stay. When you check out, any meals if left, are forfeited.

Dining plan is good until midnight on check-out day. But, yes, once you check out, if you don't use the credits up on that day, they are forfeited.

So you could save 1 credit per person and eat breakfast the morning you check out- as long as you eat BEFORE you check out??

You can check out, then eat b'fast with your credits, as long as you eat before midnight that night! If you haven't used your credits by 12:00 AM , you lose them. So, you have the whole day and evening of the day you check out to use up your meals.

Example:
You could, on your departure day, check out of your resort first thing in the AM. The resort holds your baggage for you while you go to MK for the day. You eat a CS meal while you are there. You come back to the resort, and use your last Snack credits for drink botles right before you head to the airport. Am I explaining this clearly? :sunny:

Hope that helps!
