Here I am, day 9, avoiding packing up. Why not take advantage of the free WiFi and post on disboards? But I must hurry because in 15 minutes I will step out onto my walkway and watch Epcot's fireworks.
When I checked in online I chose 60s. I didn't pay for preferred and I didn't know if any of the 60s rooms were not preferred. I still don't know whether my room is or not, but it is in a fabulous location! Room 4458. Fourth floor, lake side. It's close to the hippy dippy pool, the food court, and the buses. The parking is too far, in my opinion, but for the time we had a car I parked in the check in lot and it was pretty quick. At night I walk right outside and watch the fireworks. The first night I was already in bed when the fireworks started and my DD opened the door and I could see them from my bed!! Awesome!
The food here is great, as always. Pop has some serious problems with their ice machines though. They are down so often that I'm guessing they will be replaced soon. But the lemonade and soda come out of the tap pretty cold anyway so I wasn't crying about it. I love the meatball sub and salad!
The staff could not be nicer, but that goes for all of Disney. Mousekeeping is great too. No problems at all. I'm not a big fan of the buses, but that's strictly a personal preference. I'm impatient and I don't like waiting, or standing the whole way back. Also, we had ALOT of rain for the first half of our trip and it just made the buses a little less pleasant for me. Icky, smelly, wet people crammed together, yikes. One night, leaving Downtown Disney, the AoA pulled up and we jumped on it. There were very few other people on it so we could actually sit. We had been wanting to walk over there and check the place out (building 4 is super close to the bridge), but this walk back to Pop was our first time. And OH MY GOSH it is so nice over there!! I had to go to the bathroom bad so I went into theirs, in the lobby. It's all pink and Little Mermaidy!! I took a picture, lol! We checked out their store and headed out back. You have all seen the pictures by now, but I'm telling you, in person it is even more wonderful! It just is. I can't explain it. I'm going to stay here someday. The pool is gated but it is not locked. I know because I wanted a closer look even though it was pouring! I went back a few times over the course of the trip and it was never locked, but maybe it will be when all the sections are open. I've been told that when you go underwater in The Big Blue you hear Nemo and Dory talking! So cool! I have a perfect view of the bridge and all day long you can spot Pop folks walking back over in their swimsuits. Obviously they don't Dis and therefore don't know how worked up people get about pool hopping!
Well, that's about all I can think of right now. I hear the newcomers next door outside watching MY fireworks. Geez. Some nerve.
Wait!! I forgot to mention the pool games. They have organized games for kids of all ages that go on every day for HOURS! Swim races, relays, hula hooping, trivia, all kinds of stuff. Everyone gets really into it. I'm pretty sure they do it at AoA too, because I could hear a microphoned voice coming from over there at the same time Pop was doing their games.
Any questions?
